We received a poem, written by a daughter of one of our amazing patients, and wanted to share it:
There is a quiet kind of care
that doesn’t rush,
doesn’t speak too loudly,
doesn’t try to fix what cannot be fixed.
It sits beside a bed when the room feels too heavy,
holds a hand when words fall away,
and reminds my family we are not alone in this moment.
At Berkley Hospice, they don’t measure time in days,
they measure it in meaning.
In laughter that finds its way back, in stories told one more time,
in the gentle rhythm of presence when everything else feels uncertain.
With their team, the hope doesn’t disappear, it changes shape.
It becomes comfort. It becomes dignity.
It becomes love, it is felt in every small, quiet moment.
And in those moments, something extraordinary happens…
Even as life slows, connection deepens.
Even in goodbye, there is still so much love left to give.
That is the heart of what they do. That is Berkley Hospice.
Thank you for being there for my mom and us! ❤️
