Comparative Review of Superior Capsule Reconstruction and Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty for Irreparable Rotator Cuff Tear.

Rotator cuff tears are a prevalent cause of shoulder dysfunction, particularly in aging populations, with conservative treatments often proving ineffective for massive or irreparable tears. When non-surgical options fail, superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) and reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA)....

If you’ve been in clinic lately, you’ve probably met Andrew, my new PA. He’s got extensive orthopedic experience, loves being in the OR, and is just as dedicated to taking care of patients in clinic. Fun fact: we’re both married to healthcare workers and both have young kids at home… there’s never a dull moment around here! Excited to have Andrew on my team.

People as young as 50 can need a hip replacement. Here's everything you need to know about this common surgery.

Around 117,000 people living in England and Wales had a hip replacement in 2024. Although hip replacements are often thought of as a surgery that mainly older people need, reports from previous years show that around 43% of these operations are done in people aged 50 to 69 years old.

I’m proud to have recently earned my ABOS Sports Medicine Subspecialty Certification, a distinction held by fewer than 3,000 surgeons over the past 20 years.

This certification is required for team physicians in most professional sports organizations in the United States and reflects advanced training and extensive experience treating sports medicine injuries with excellent outcomes.

I take great pride in providing elite care to athletes and active individuals in the greater Austin community!

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend and present at a cadaver lab and course on advanced shoulder management for acromium and scapular fractures lead by expert Dr. Peter Cole. Really enjoyed sharing cases with fellow shoulder surgeons here in Austin and learning the latest techniques in shoulder repair.

Meet Linda, my scheduler and the powerhouse who keeps me in line!

With 13 years in ortho (11 of them at TXO), she makes every patient’s experience seamless. Fun fact — she went to Hutto High School when my dad was the head football coach, so we basically grew up as neighbors without even knowing it.

I wouldn’t survive a day without her!
