At the end of November, Lirios Pediatrics was awarded the Nonprofit Impact Award by the Austin Chamber. This recognition means so much to us as we continue our mission of providing free healthcare to uninsured children in Central Texas.

After nearly five years of dedication and leadership, our co-founder and executive director, Monica Simmons, is stepping down to spend more time with her family. Her vision and tireless work have touched countless lives, and her impact will be felt for years to come. While we will miss her deeply, we are excited to see what this next chapter will bring for her.

Has your family gotten its whooping cough booster lately? Texas is seeing a surge of over 3,500 whooping cough cases, leading to a statewide health alert.

Diseases we used to fear, like smallpox, polio, measles, and more, have been largely tamed thanks to vaccines. Because of them, we’ve eradicated or dramatically reduced once-deadly illnesses. But vaccine-preventable spikes like this show we can’t let our guard down.
