Has your family gotten its whooping cough booster lately? Texas is seeing a surge of over 3,500 whooping cough cases, leading to a statewide health alert.

Diseases we used to fear, like smallpox, polio, measles, and more, have been largely tamed thanks to vaccines. Because of them, we’ve eradicated or dramatically reduced once-deadly illnesses. But vaccine-preventable spikes like this show we can’t let our guard down.

At Lirios Pediatrics, we’ve proudly given 11,000+ life-saving shots to protect uninsured kids — from TDAP boosters to childhood immunizations. Vaccines save lives. Let’s keep protecting our community.

Our Executive Director Monica Simmons is headed to Colorado to soak up all of the education, practice ideas, advocacy information, and community that we know are just a small part of what the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics offers to us as a member clinic. It takes a village to run a charitable clinic and we are grateful to have NAFC and Texas Association of Charitable Clinics on our team!

In just a few days, the NAFC community will come together to learn, share, and grow — all in service of expanding access to quality, compassionate healthcare.
