Today we honor one of the extraordinary doulas/mothers/sisters/humans in our community.
Erinda has become a pillar here at N+B, sharing with our team and clients alike her adept facilitation of sacred space, her deep capacity for caring, her incredible organization skills , her genius for noticing the details and amplifying beauty in any space, her love for community building and her experience as a mother…she has generously offered her full heart to us and we are so grateful. We honor you, sister and we see you and love you. Thank you for dancing beside us through the many realms we traverse.
A little about Erinda:
I was born in Albania, a very small but ancient country in a tucked away corner of the Mediterranean, just north of Greece and across the pond from Italy. Albania, that is actually called Shaipëri in the Albanian language, has been historically invaded by colonizers throughout the majority of time and somehow has always come through the other side, alive and resilient with even more national pride than ever, carrying forth the original language and many of the traditions. From the Romans, to the Greeks, to the Slavs, the Turks and more, Albania has been captivated and occupied many times for centuries, and successfully reclaimed freedom over and over again throughout history.
I attended school in Albania only for a few years but I still speak/write/read the language fluently. Same with Greek. I learned English also when I was little although I moved to the U.S. at the tender age of 18, calling it home ever since. Now I have built a family here and even some of my blood family lives here now.
