You’re not tired.
Your dopamine architecture is fractured.
We don’t scroll because we’re curious.
We scroll because the brain is starving for resolution.
Every swipe = a micro-reward.
Every micro-reward = less baseline drive.
Every night of fragmented dopamine = a quieter prefrontal cortex the next day.
That’s not laziness.
That’s neurochemical erosion.
The modern nervous system isn’t overwhelmed.
It’s over-stimulated without recovery windows.
And the cost is invisible:
• shorter attention spans
• flattened motivation curves
• emotional reactivity
• impaired decision bandwidth
• chronic “low-grade exhaustion” that bloodwork never explains
This is not a discipline problem.
It’s a regulation problem.
And regulation is trainable.
Strengthen first. Then perform.
