✨ Anticipatory anxiety in women often flies under the radar, but it’s more common than you might think. It can look like second-guessing plans days in advance, lying awake replaying future scenarios, or feeling an unshakable nervous energy about things that may or may not even happen.

It’s not always obvious—sometimes it hides behind being "extra prepared" or staying busy to avoid those nagging worries. But deep down, it can feel exhausting and overwhelming, like you’re always bracing for something just around the corner.

If this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone, and it's okay to take a pause. Sometimes, just slowing down and acknowledging how you're feeling is the first step toward managing it.

How do you cope with moments like this? Let’s share tips and support each other—leave your thoughts or experiences in the comments 💬. You never know who might need to hear that they’re not alone in this.

Imagine - you're chillin' on the couch playing video games and watching your favorite show when all of a sudden you get a little flutter in your chest or your heart skips a beat.

You don't think much of it but then your heart starts beating a little faster and you feel a little surge of heat through your body.

Your brain starts to panic and you start to have racing thoughts around what is happening. The walls may feel like their closing in on you and you begin to have tunnel vision.

THEN you bring in self-judgment around you not being able to cut this anxiety crap and see yourself as a failure.

Anxiety isn't just "in your head." It's interconnected within us physically, emotionally, AND mentally having a little dance party without your permission.

In fact, a lot of people notice the physical symptoms before anything else because it can be so loud and hold so much energy.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

Do you excel at work and in life - checking all those boxes you know you're "supposed to?"

People may say you have it all together, appear calm and composed and are the "go-to" person for others.

But on the inside? You’re filled with worry, insecurity and self-doubt.

Anxiety isn't always what you think it looks like and you might think there's no way "that" person experiences anxiety - they always have it all together!

S**E! You got got!

Anxiety just like with all other mental health struggles aren't always what they seem or what you think they "should" look like.

High functioning anxiety in particular. You're able to get stuff done, accomplishing all the things, make all the to-do lists, have all the best friends, be the best partner and parent.

You can appear cool, calm, and collected on the outside but the inside is a raging hot mess.

An added difficulty is that we have come to normalize and reward many unhealthy traits in the workplace and our homes and frame them as positives and something to strive for.

Appearing ‘fine’ to others is all part of the mask but talking about your struggles, admitting to how you really feel or delegating can take some of the crippling pressure off that you're experiencing.
