Emotional blunting is reported a common side effect of oral antidepressants, and arguably a feature of how they work.

they take the edge off, keep our pain at a distance, and our other feelings along with itā€¦. (Note the commonly reported sexual dysfunction)

The treatments we offer have been specifically shown in clinical studies to improve ā€˜anhedoniaā€™ (inability to feel pleasure) which comes with depression and oral antidepressants.

Thatā€™s pretty exciting for those of us whoā€™ve accepted this side effect as a standard feature of our lives, and may have forgotten itā€™s possible to be any other way.
