✨ Employee Spotlight ✨
Gabrielle is our office manager and can be spotted helping out in various areas of the clinic. She moved to Austin in 2016 and has worked in both optometry and ophthalmology since then. As the team problem-solver, she's always looking for ways to uphold our commitment to excellent patient care and treatment. You might also find her tending to the office plants and unloading all the pens she's accidentally stolen from around the clinic.

😱 It really is spooky to think of what could be going on inside your meibomian glands!
When these thick "toothpaste" oils are extracted from the glands, it allows room for healthy oil to be stored. The oily layer of tears is important as it helps keep the watery layer of the tears from evaporating too quickly. Suffering from dry eye symptoms and looking for relief? Call, text, or schedule online for a Dry Eye Evaluation! πŸ’§πŸ‘οΈ

πŸ™€ Lumps and bumps and eyelids, oh my! 🌟
We often see bumps of various types and causes in our Dry Eye Evaluations. Most commonly, we'll see styes and chalazions as these are often associated with Dry Eye Disease. However, there are many other types of lesions of various causes that we see, as well! Proper evaluation of any lesions will help determine proper course of treatment which can include topical or oral medications, IPL or Low Level Light Therapy, or referral to an oculoplastics specialist πŸ‘οΈπŸ•΅οΈ

😷 Face reveal ➑️ 😸
You may see Gabrielle and Maddy in masks around the office doing their best to keep our patients safe and healthy. We know many of our patients are immunocompromised and have medical concerns beyond their eyes, so our staff works hard to keep our space clean, pristine, and everything in between! 🧽🫧✨

🟒 KERATITIS 🟒
Keratitis is inflammation on the cornea, which is the most densely innervated part of the body. Anyone who has had a corneal scratch or injury can attest- it is PAINFUL πŸ˜– Many of our patients have keratitis when they first come into our office. Oftentimes, this is the main culprit behind eye pain, irritation, foreign body sensation, light sensitivity, and more. Treating keratitis quickly will help get our patients start to feel better, but it is imperative to treat the underlying causation! A thorough evaluation of medical history is an important first step in determining treatments which is why we require a Dry Eye Evaluation before proceeding with treatments πŸ”¬βœοΈ Call, text, or follow the link in our bio to schedule your eval!
