⏳💙 is almost here! Early giving is underway, and the 24-hour giving event runs March 4–5.

When you give to CommUnityCare Health Centers, you help keep care within reach for underserved families across Central Texas. Our commitment to health equity means caring for the un- and under-insured, supporting patients managing chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, and providing compassionate care for neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Lend a hand and help strengthen our mission to ensure everyone in our community has access to the care they deserve.

The expanded Bastrop Health Center is now offering pediatric care alongside women’s health services, making it easier for families to receive continuous, comprehensive care close to home. 👶🤰

By adding five pediatric exam rooms and on-site financial eligibility services, the expansion reduces barriers like travel time, missed work, and transportation challenges—helping Bastrop families access care where they live.

Our CommUnityCare Health Centers team is back from a week in Washington, D.C. at the National Association of Community Health Centers Policy & Issues Forum. We joined leaders from more than 1,300 health centers across the country to celebrate new multi-year federal funding for the Health Center Program—the largest increase in 10 years—and continued investments in the healthcare workforce to help more patients get the care they need.

We also heard from Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Dr. Mehmet Oz, and Thomas J. Engels about the importance of strong primary care and community-based services. On Capitol Hill, we met with the offices of Rep. Michael Cloud, Pete Sessions, Lloyd Doggett, Greg Casar, and Chip Roy and saw strong support for community health centers from both parties.

We’re proud to speak up for our patients and bring Travis County’s voice to the national stage.

We’re excited to share that our Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Strategy Officer Tara Trower has been published by the American College of Healthcare Executives!

In “The Imposter Advantage,” Trower explores a topic many leaders carry quietly—imposter syndrome—and how those feelings can actually reflect care, curiosity, and responsibility, especially in complex healthcare settings.

✨ 🙏 Today we celebrate and deeply thank Barbara Brooks-Robinson for her 16 years of service on the CommUnityCare Health Centers Board of Directors.

Barbara’s story is one of strength and service—from being a patient herself to becoming a guiding voice for others. After a life-changing health challenge, she not only found care and healing through CommUnityCare Health Centers, but she also chose to dedicate her life to ensuring that others have access to the support they need. Her courage, advocacy, and heart have helped shape policies, create meaningful committees like the Patient Experience Committee, and improve care for countless individuals.

Barbara, we are so grateful for your leadership, your wisdom, and your unwavering commitment to serving others. Thank you for walking beside so many, and for leaving a legacy that will continue to lift up our community.

Our Community Engagement team has officially kicked off Findhelp trainings for 2026!

We started the year with the team at Center for Child Protection during their January Outreach Spotlight, bringing together over 40 staff and partners to explore how Findhelp helps connect people to local community resources.

We’re grateful for spaces where learning is collaborative and rooted in real community needs.

For generations, Black families have taken care of one another—sharing knowledge, looking out for elders, and stepping in when access to healthcare wasn’t guaranteed.

As we mark a century of documenting and honoring Black history, we recognize that health is part of that story too. The care passed down through families and communities matters. So does making sure today’s families have access to preventive, compassionate care that supports the next generation.

This Black History Month, we honor that legacy and the work of building healthier futures for Black communities.
