TMA Alliance members embraced the Beach Party theme at the 33rd annual TMA Foundation gala with leis, smiles, and tropical flair. The festive evening honored the service of all, who share a commitment to improving the health of all Texans.

On the final day of TexMed, newly installed TMA Alliance President Lydia Soldano reflected on her commitment to carry on the important mission of the alliance alongside her fellow members.

The momentum continues to build as TMA Alliance members take on Day Two of ALLMED. The energy is high, and the room is at full capacity. Members heard from composer J. Todd Frazier, senior director of Houston Methodist Hospital’s System Center for Performing Arts Medicine and Rice University School of Music Professor Anthony Brandt. The pair discussed how creativity is not an indulgence but an essential part of every human brain and a powerful driver of health and well-being. Their keynote highlighted the science behind how we generate new ideas and showcased real-life examples of music therapy and arts improving patient care. Members also had the opportunity to connect and engage with one another before heading into the TMAA annual business meeting.

Into the Wild: A Jungle Safari, held on the rooftop of the Austin Public Library, featured a successful silent auction full of exciting vacation packages. The Tarrant County Medical Society Alliance Foundation hosted its annual Medicine Ball gala with TMAA President Joi Smith as guest. This year’s event included honorary chair, Sandy Lanier, a long-standing member who helped launch the Shots Across Texas childhood vaccination initiative that today is called Vaccines Defend What Matters. The Medicine Ball raises funds for health initiatives in Tarrant County, including Texas Bookshare, Vaccines Defend What Matters, Hard Hats for Little Heads, Project Access Tarrant County, and allied health scholarships.
