Today in Austin, Texas, we Walk for Alzheimer’s! 💜 Our team joined the community to raise awareness and honor those living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Every step we take helps support research, education, and hope for families affected by memory loss. Together, we walk to support our residents, families, and all those touched by Alzheimer’s.

Our Enrichment Science Club was back at it this week with another exciting experiment exploring chemical reactions! 🧪 This time, we tested whether salt helps ice cubes melt faster — and if so, which type works best! Using equal amounts of ice and two different kinds of salt, our residents formed their own hypotheses and observed the results in real time. ❄️✨

Science activities like these spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and create opportunities for meaningful engagement — all while bringing a little fun and discovery into our day!

🎵 Music Club in our Sensory Community was all about hands-on discovery! Residents explored one instrument at a time — feeling the textures, hearing each unique sound, and using fine motor skills to create beautiful music together. Engaging with instruments not only stimulates multiple senses but also encourages self-expression, memory recall, and joy through rhythm and sound. 💫🎶

This week in our Science Club within the Enrichments Community, we took a deep dive into A Bug’s Life! 🐜

🔬 Using our Eversound Headphones and safety gear, residents explored different types of insects and learned about their fascinating life cycles. The experience sparked wonderful conversations as everyone reminisced about the bugs they remembered from childhood—lightning bugs, ladybugs, and everything in between!

Activities like these encourage curiosity, sensory engagement, and memory recall—helping residents connect science with personal memories in a fun and meaningful way. 🌿✨

This week in Coffee Club ☕️ we celebrated National Share a Cup of Coffee with an Officer Day! 👮‍♂️💙 Our residents had the wonderful opportunity to connect with local officers who help protect and serve our community.

For individuals living with dementia, social interactions like these provide a sense of belonging, strengthen communication skills, and foster emotional well-being. Engaging with new faces and sharing meaningful conversations helps stimulate memory, promote comfort, and remind our residents that they’re part of a larger, caring community. 💕
