Hyperpigmentation does not live only on the surface of the skin. Much of the pigment sits deeper in the epidermal layers. During microneedling we create controlled micro-channels that stimulate collagen and increase cellular turnover.
As the skin begins renewing itself, that deeper pigment starts moving upward through the layers. This can make dark spots look temporarily darker as they rise to the surface.
This is part of the process.
The skin is pushing that pigment out through natural cell turnover. With each treatment cycle the pigment continues to break down, fade, and become more even as healthier new skin replaces the old cells.
Microneedling works beneath the surface where pigmentation actually forms. Consistent treatments allow the skin to gradually rebuild with clearer tone, smoother texture, and stronger collagen.
