Don’t let your 2025 benefits go unused 👁️💳
As the year wraps up, many vision insurance plans and HSA/FSA funds expire if they aren’t used. Even if you don’t need glasses, your eye exam is still covered and is an important part of monitoring your overall eye health.

Why now is the time to book:
• Most plans reset January 1st
• Comprehensive exams can detect early eye disease
• HSA/FSA dollars can be used for medical eye visits
• Early scheduling helps you avoid the end-of-year rush

If it’s been a year (or longer) since your last exam, now’s the perfect time to get it done. Healthy eyes start with routine care.

December is Safe Toys & Gifts Awareness Month 🎁
Many holiday eye injuries can be prevented with a little awareness. When gifting this season, keep eye safety in mind—especially for kids.

Tips for choosing safe toys:
• Check age recommendations — avoid toys with sharp edges or small detachable parts for younger children.
• Skip high-impact projectiles (foam dart guns, slingshots, etc.) that can cause serious eye injuries.
• Look for “ASTM” labels indicating the toy meets safety standards.
• Avoid laser pointers—even low-level lasers can damage the retina.
• Choose protective eyewear for sports gear or outdoor activity toys.

Healthy vision is a lifelong gift. Choosing safe toys helps protect it.

Winter in Texas doesn’t always mean relief from allergies — cedar, mold, and indoor irritants can still cause itchy, watery, irritated eyes.

Here are a few simple ways to protect your eyes this season:
• Keep windows closed on high-cedar days
• Use preservative-free artificial tears to flush allergens
• Run a clean air purifier indoors
• Avoid rubbing your eyes (it worsens inflammation)
• Consider a daily antihistamine or allergy eye drop if symptoms persist

If your symptoms last more than a few days or affect your vision, an eye exam can help rule out other causes.
Stay informed, stay comfortable!

🚫 Myth: Losing vision is just a normal part of getting older.

✅ Fact: Many age-related vision changes are preventable or treatable with regular eye care.
While it’s true your eyes change over time, vision loss is not inevitable.
Conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration can often be detected early and managed before they cause permanent damage.

👓 Stay proactive — schedule yearly eye exams and protect your sight for the long run.

Your retina tells a story — and retinal imaging lets us read it clearly. 📸👁️

This quick, painless photo captures the back of your eye, allowing us to detect early signs of conditions like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and even retinal detachments — often before you notice any symptoms.

It’s one of the most powerful tools we have for protecting your sight and your overall health. 💙

✨ See beyond the surface — ask about retinal imaging at your next visit!

Did you know? Diabetes is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness in adults.

Over time, high blood sugar can weaken and leak from the blood vessels in your retina — often without any warning signs.
Regular eye exams are the only way to catch these changes early, when treatment is most effective.

Even if your vision seems fine, your eyes may be telling a different story. 👁️

🌎 Today is World Keratoconus Day — a reminder that clear vision isn’t something to take for granted.
Keratoconus is a progressive condition that causes the cornea to thin and bulge into a cone-like shape, leading to distorted or blurry vision.

💙 Early diagnosis and specialized care can help preserve sight and improve quality of life.
If you’ve noticed frequent prescription changes or worsening vision, schedule a comprehensive eye exam — early detection makes all the difference.
