Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) Awareness Month

February is AMD Awareness Month — a time to spotlight one of the leading causes of vision loss in adults over 50.

AMD affects the macula, the part of your retina responsible for sharp, central vision. While symptoms may start subtly, early detection can make a meaningful difference in protecting your sight.

Common early signs include:
• Blurry or distorted central vision
• Difficulty reading or recognizing faces
• Dark or empty areas in your vision
• Straight lines appearing wavy

Routine comprehensive eye exams allow us to detect AMD early — often before noticeable symptoms begin.

Protect your vision. Schedule your annual eye exam today.

A contact lens prescription is not the same as a glasses prescription.
Contact lens evaluations ensure proper lens fit, comfort, and eye health. Ill-fitting lenses can lead to irritation, infection, or long-term damage.

Whether you currently wear contacts or are considering them for the first time, a contact lens evaluation is an important part of safe contact lens wear.

Your eyes deserve precision care.

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month.

Glaucoma is often called the “silent thief of sight” because it can develop with little to no noticeable symptoms in its early stages.

While it’s commonly associated with older adults, signs of glaucoma can also be detected in younger adults, making routine eye exams important at every age.

Vision loss from glaucoma is irreversible, but early detection and monitoring can help preserve sight—especially for those with a family history or other risk factors.

Early detection saves sight. Routine eye exams matter.

A new year is the perfect time to prioritize your eye health.
Even if your vision feels fine, comprehensive eye exams can detect early signs of eye disease before symptoms appear. Many conditions, including glaucoma and macular degeneration, develop silently.
Routine exams allow your optometrist to monitor changes in eye health and protect your long-term vision.
📅 Start the year with clarity — schedule your annual eye exam today.
