Hello Friends,
I’m very excited to share this news with you…
My colleague Dr. Mark Hyman has created a powerful all-new online docu-series called Broken Brain 2 as a follow-up to his earlier series.
And I am privileged to be a part of it, as one of the featured speakers!
Right now, you can view the entire series at no charge as my guest.
>> Reserve your FREE VIP SPOT to see Broken Brain 2
In Broken Brain 2, you’ll hear from me and around 70 more leading health experts — plus see inspiring stories from recovering patients.
Over the course of 8 full-length episodes, we’ll share cutting-edge strategies to help you heal your own mind, brain, and body.
You’ll discover:
Unique ways to protect your brain from the multitude of toxins inside your home…

The odd way in which your heart rhythm can shape your brain function…

Easy methods to heal yourself from destructive beliefs and traumas that impact your mind and body…

How to use your personal genetics to improve your brain and overall health…

The little-known link between your brain health and your eyes, teeth, and gums…

A simple morning routine for more success and better brain health…

And much, much more…
You can watch one episode — or all of them — at no charge for 24 hours after they air.
This was truly a “labor of love” for me and all the other participants.
Please take advantage of this generous opportunity to see Broken Brain 2.
To your future,
Dr. Carlos Ritter

P.S. In the first episode, Dr. Hyman shares his own personal story with mold toxicity that damaged his brain. It is deeply moving — don’t miss it. After all, we’re all in this together.

Sign up today to receive free access to the Broken Brain 2 docu-series premiering on April 3rd.

Being a Health Care professional at the beginning of the XX Century was easier than being a Medical doctor or any related health profession these days.
The first reason is because at the beginning of the XX Century the amount of toxins being released in our environment were fewer than today. The complexity of toxins we are over exposed to today requires health care professionals to understand more areas of science than before.
The revolution of the medical field (XXI Century Medicine) has pushed medical doctors and health care professionals to become experts in those “different areas of science”. Earlier in the 1970’s, some medical doctors and researchers started the quest to complement their knowledge of Biology with Physics; due to the fact that the human body performs physiological processes triggered by electric signals. Also, they reported that the human body reacts to external man-made electric fields in the environment we live in. To quote Dr. Andrew Marino, “In the 1970’s that train of thought was far from being orthodox,”
It is imperative scientists and medical doctors understand the Laws of Physics that rule our surrounding environment. Health care professionals must understand the nature of toxins, the way humans absorb them, and understand the reaction of a particular Toxin to the human cell.
The environment is filled with signals (electric and magnetic fields traveling through the air), pretending they are not there is the first mistake we are making.
For the last past 11 years our members and colleges around the world have gathered information regarding the physiological pathways during sleep and the interaction with environmental toxins.
We invite health care professionals to join us in learning about the most common manmade particles and waves filling our surroundings, the interaction between them, and biological matter.

Should Every Medical Doctor Be an Expert in Sleep Physiology?

What is Sleep Medicine?

I should start by defining what is sleep physiology,
A summary could be: sleep physiology is the activation of biochemical pathways needed to accomplish enzyme, DNA and membrane restoration in each cell of the body.
The human body works in perfect harmony thanks to two opposites physiological stages:

a) Physiology during awake
b) Physiology during sleep

Physiology during sleep was misunderstood by many scientists for a very long time.
The critical importance of sleep, to good health was dramatically illuminated by the classic experiments of Rechtschaffen.
In these experiments, total sleep deprivation on rats resulted in death of all rats within 2 to 3 weeks.
Selective deprivation of non-rapid eye movement (NREM) and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, also resulted in death of the animals over a slightly longer period.
With progressive sleep deprivation, the rats became hypermetabolic and lost weight despite increasing food intake. They developed skin erosions and lesions of the gastro intestinal tract, with hypothermia developing just prior to death.
Some years after the previous report, scientist had a second important piece of the puzzle, the association between sleep-deprived critically ill patients in intensive care units often succumb to sepsis.
An early study by Kripke, et al. in more than a million patients conducted by the American Cancer Society, showed mortality rates after 6 years of follow-up were significantly increased for patients reporting less than 4 hours or more than 10 hours of sleep per night at baseline.
The consistency of these reports suggested that deviations in sleep duration from the norm (insufficient or excessive) may adversely influence human longevity.
The discovery of the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) as the site of the biological clock in 1972. And the devastating outcome of patients suffering Fatal Familial Insomnia, finally unraveled the mystery of physiology during sleep.
In 1998 Ferid Murad described the importance of Nitric Oxide, a key molecule in complex biochemical pathways involved in destruction of enzymes, DNA and Membranes. Martin Pall describes the NO/ONOO cycle which in essence shows the scientific community the key role of biochemical pathways of restoration during sleep.
The question, should every medical doctor be an expert in sleep physiology?
Should be answer: YES!

The North American Sleep Medicine Society’s mission is to encourage every MD around the world to join us to learn more about the link between sleep physiology and health, and the opposite, sleep pathophysiology and chronic diseases by signing up for our sleep medicine courses.
