Laissez les bons temps rouler! We had a great time at our Mardi Gras party on Tuesday. I was a little late to party so grabbed a picture of the half-eaten snack table. Chef Jeanie prepared a special Cajun-inspired lunch including a delicious Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya and hot Beignets for dessert. You couldn't eat just one! 🤤🎭🍹

Love was in the air as we celebrated Valentine's Day here at SoCo! The residents had a full day of creating beautiful floral arrangements for the tables, making Valentine's, and enjoying a beautiful Valentine's Day party. Chef Jeanie and her team outdid themselves with an elegant lunch. We're still talking about her strawberry-buttercream cuddle cakes 🤤💘💌🥰🌹

If you need a smile today, then head on over to Kerbey Lane Cafe on William Cannon and ask for Achi as your server. Our residents had the pleasure of being served by her on Friday and she went to the trouble of drawing a caricature of each resident on their to-go containers and their receipts! We loved Kerbey Lane before, but now we're making this location our top breakfast spot. Thank you, Achi, for bringing smiles to our residents' faces 🥞 Kerbey Lane Cafe

Yesterday was a special day at SoCo Village. Our dear resident Susie turned 100 years old! What an amazing accomplishment. We are honored to have been a part of her journey for the past three years. Having so many family members turn out for the celebration brought tears to her eyes. The room was sprinkled with pictures of Susie's life and family. Everyone wore purple, Susie's favorite color. Music was performed by Meredith Welborn that everyone clapped and sang along to. Chef Jeannie provided a wonderful spread for the celebration. A wonderful cake and toast to our first Centenarian here at SoCo concluded the afternoon. Thank you, Susie, for being such a special part of our SoCo family 💜

Our residents enjoyed getting to make their own crepes with fillings such as whipped cream, chocolate sauce, berries, bananas, and nuts 🤤

Cold days are perfect days to head indoors at the movies! Today our residents got to see the Oscar-nominated film, Marty Supreme. The residents enjoyed it very much and I have a feeling once it starts warming up, we'll have some competitive games of table tennis out on our patio 🏓

We embraced Pizza Friday last Friday at The Pizza Cave in Dripping Springs. This is our resident, Larry's, favorite restaurant so we were happy to make a trip to try their awesome pizzas and pastas 🍕

Get your morning stretch in with Nykole, a certified yoga intructor, every other Wednesday at 10am here at SoCo Village. Nykole teaches at many studios here in Austin and San Antonio. What a great way to start out the morning! 🧘‍♀️

We started out the year visiting an Austin original, Catfish Parlour, on one of our first lunch outings of the year. Being locally-owned ourselves, we love supporting our Austin counterparts 🦪
