Austin Speech Labs

Austin Speech Labs Austin Speech Labs is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Austin, TX.

Austin Speech Labs was founded in 2008 when two speech therapists saw a gap between services covered by medical insurance and what stroke survivors truly need to return to their social and professional lives. Speech language pathologists, Shilpa Shamapant and Shelley Adair, founded Austin Speech Labs to provide the intensive and individualized speech therapy required for optimum recovery. We strive to provide a supportive environment for our clients to recover their communication skills after suffering stroke. It is important to our organization to bring these survivors into our Austin Speech Labs community and prevent isolation after such a traumatic event. We want to help them regain their speech so they can express themselves to their families and loved ones, which we consider a basic human need. Austin Speech Labs believes that giving them back their voice will help them rejoin the larger community.
