There are so many people who make Hospice Austin's Christopher House special. Today, we want to say thank you to the family members who continue to carry our staff in their hearts. đź’™

Every Good Friday for the past four years, a brother whose siblings received end-of-life care from our team returns with a beautiful tradition.

He catches fish and prepares a meal for our staff as a way to say thank you.

This simple, generous gesture means more than words can express.

We’re so proud to celebrate Susannah, one of our incredible Hospice Austin admission nurses, who is featured on the cover of this month’s Mueller Magazine!

Her story is a beautiful example of the compassion, kindness, and belief that there is a better way to approach death and dying. These are values that inspire so many of our care team members to do this work every day.

Susannah’s journey reflects why people are called to Hospice Austin, the area’s nonprofit hospice, and the heart they bring to serving our community.

Despite all of our careful preparations, this ice storm left its mark on Hospice Austin's Christopher House. A pipe burst in one of our patient rooms, a stark reminder of the building’s age and vulnerability.

As Austin’s only nonprofit hospice, Hospice Austin relys on community support. Your donation today will help repair the storm damage and provide essential supplies. Every gift makes a difference. Thank you for helping us care for our community.

Grief is a natural response to loss but understanding it and giving yourself permission to grieve in your own way can be incredibly challenging. There’s no single “right” way to experience grief, and no two journeys look the same.

To support our community, Hospice Austin offers a free monthly webinar series, Conversations on Grief, created to help you explore your grief with guidance, compassion, and practical tools.

Join us on Thursday, January 15 from 11 a.m. to noon for a thoughtful discussion on the difference between intentions and resolutions. We’ll explore how to identify meaningful intentions, how to weave them into your daily life, and how to check in with yourself along the way.

You’re welcome to join us wherever you are in your grief journey.
