Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin that has offers inpatient and outpatient services for individuals with brain injury and medically complex challenges. Physicians are on the medical staff of Texas NeuroRehab Center, but, with limited exceptions, are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of Texas NeuroRehab Center. During his time at Texas NeuroRehab Center, Javier Cordova made remarkable progress. When he arrived, he required full assistance with mobility, was unable to stand, had limited verbal communication, and was on a modified diet.

In just one month, Javier’s determination—and the dedication of his care team—led to transformational change. He transitioned to a regular diet, began speaking and smiling again, regained his ability to stand, and grew stronger each day.

We’re grateful to share that Javier has now safely returned home, where he will continue his recovery through outpatient therapy. His journey is a reminder of resilience, hope and the impact of coordinated, compassionate care.

What to know:
✅ Early detection saves lives – Regular screenings and mammograms are key.
✅ Know the signs – Lumps, changes in breast shape, skin dimpling or unusual discharge should be checked by a healthcare provider.
✅ Risk factors vary – Family history, age and lifestyle can play a role, but breast cancer can affect anyone.
✅ Support matters – Whether it’s offering a ride, lending a listening ear or joining awareness events, every gesture counts.
