PromoSalud was honored to be invited to the first official tour of the newly updated Central Health Hancock facility—formerly the old Sears building—now transformed into a centralized healthcare hub for Travis County residents.

This innovative campus will bring together essential services under one roof, including Central Health, CommUnityCare, the David Powell Health Center, Sendero Health Plans, eligibility services, pharmacy, and specialty care. The project represents a major step forward in expanding access, improving care coordination, and strengthening the local healthcare safety net.

We extend our sincere thanks to Central Health for the invitation and for recognizing the value of community partners like PromoSalud in advancing a more equitable and accessible health system.

PromoSalud tuvo el honor de ser invitado al primer recorrido oficial de las instalaciones renovadas de Hancock de Central Health—anteriormente el antiguo edificio de Sears—ahora transformado en un centro integral de salud para los residentes del Condado de Travis.

Este innovador espacio reunirá servicios esenciales en un solo lugar, incluyendo Central Health, CommUnityCare, la clínica David Powell, Sendero Health Plans, servicios de elegibilidad, farmacia y especialidades. ⚠️ ADVERTENCIA: Oruga Venenosa en el Área — Oruga del “Southern Flannel Moth”

La oruga del terciopelo del Sur conocida como: oruga “asp” ha sido vista en nuestra área. Aunque se ve suave y esponjosa, esconde espinas venenosas que pueden causar dolor intenso, ardor, hinchazón, náuseas y reacciones más fuerte.

Qué hacer:

* No tocarla.
* Mantener a niños y mascotas alejados.
* Si alguien es picado, use cinta adhesiva para retirar las espinas, aplique hielo y busque atención médica si los síntomas empeoran.

⚠️ WARNING: Venomous Caterpillar in the Area — Southern Flannel Moth Caterpillar

The southern flannel moth caterpillar also called the asp caterpillar, has been spotted locally. Despite its fuzzy appearance, it hides venomous spines that can cause severe pain, burning, swelling, nausea, and stronger reactions.

What to do:
* Do not touch it.
* Keep children and pets away.
* If stung, use tape to lift out the spines, apply ice, and seek medical care if symptoms worsen.
