Weāre honored to announce Mark Oerther as the 2026 Lone Star Leadership Award recipient.
With over 21 years of experience across mental health, substance abuse, and recovery, Mark has served in admissions, business development, direct care, supervision, and therapeutic program managementāand helped start and operate five highly regarded treatment programs across the country.
But the leadership weāre honoring runs deeper.
Markās greatest accomplishment is getting sober. After addiction once controlled his life, he broke the cycle at the age of 21 with the support of family and others in recovery. Today, his mission is simple and powerful: to make the gift of recovery more accessible and to remind young adults and their families that there is hopeāand a new life ahead.
As Mark says, quoting his favorite line from the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous:
