Seton Cancer Survivor Center Cancer Survivorship for an Survivors over age 18 who are post-treatment

At the Seton Cancer Survivor Center, we seek to improve the quality
of life of cancer survivors by addressing potential late effects as well
as medical and psychosocial issues through multidisciplinary care. Our survivorship center has educational and support programs in place to address the long-term physical and emotional needs of cancer survivors, and to offer them the tools to live as fully as possible.

I’m raising funds for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. TEAL stands for Take Early Action and Live. I am like many people, not knowing that there is no screening test for ovarian cancer.

Today I honor the life of Stephanie Benold, a dear friend and mammographer on Seton’s Big Pink Bus. One day she popped into my office and asked me if her belly looked larger. She then promptly made appoint with her doctor who ordered an ultrasound. So began her journey of ovarian cancer.

We need to encourage every woman in our lives to talk to her doctor or other health care professional. Ask how to be checked for ovarian cancer.
