Someone recently asked what makes GRIP special.

It' not one thing & it doesn't fit in an IG post.

It's the way people stick around after class to talk or go grab coffee.

How you can have a terrible day and still show up because you know these people care.

How various members spontaneously offer to help with little projects around the space. No expectations attached.

This Thanksgiving week, we're reflecting on the things we're most grateful for, and Paige and Ben are at the top of our list. Thank you for building GRIP on a foundation of intention, compassion, and community. Thank you for creating a space where everyone can feel at home, where every goal is celebrated, and where we can grow together.

Here is the adjusted schedule for the next few weeks of festivities. ⭐

These are a few of our key principles EVERY day but they are especially important as we enter the HOLIDAYS.

We have visitors, travel, TREATS (so many treats), schedule changes, daylight savings, increased expenses, work deadlines, the list goes on and on.

All of these things take us out of our routines and are opportunities to decrease consistency.

Our approach over the next six weeks is a program that's easy to stick to and focuses on variety to keep us showing up and engaged during this chaotic time of year.

No major progressions for this short block so if you miss a Monday one week, it won't effect your next Monday.

We'll have a heavy focus on Kettle Bells and Dumbbells to keep us engaged through the end of the year.

All YOU have to do, is show up.

We'll take care of the rest.

🍃DELOAD WEEK 🌿

If you're new to this, a deload week means we intentionally pull back on volume and intensity. Lighter weights, less volume, more space for recovery. It's not a rest week; we are giving our bodies space to adapt and rebuild from the work we've been putting in.

This is how you train for longevity.

To build & push every single week without intentional periodization leads to overuse injuries, burn out, and eventually metabolic dysregulation.

Rest isn't weakness.

Recovery can't be optional.

This week, we pull back so we can come back stronger. 💥

A gym that feels like Family, means See You Laters are one of the hardest parts.

Jack and Grace,

You have been an inspiration and a support to us all, from day zero (when GRIP was just an idea).

Thank you for trusting us both with yourselves and in supporting you to grow Kai.

You have always made us laugh while pushing our ourselves a little further and never waivered in your kindness.

📢 New Cycle Alert📢

Last week's deload week is over which means this week a new cycle begins !

Last cycle we noticed a few imbalances with the barbell work We’re looking to improve upon this by changing it up and using dumbbells to isolate limbs.

💪🏼 Major lifts that we will progressively load over the next 6 weeks:

⚡Single leg Bulgarian Split Squats
⚡Variations of DB Bench Press
&
⚡ DB Presses

🧠 We'll be using tempo and adding myo reps to keep things challenging and interesting.

*Myo-reps are a training technique designed to maximize muscle growth by inducing high levels of metabolic stress.

🐎Conditioning on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
