✨The first Saturday in April we commemorate the founding of NKT-IKBU by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in 1991🪻

The occasion is marked by special events and by pujas and dedications at Kadampa centers worldwide.

Prayers are made for the flourishing of Kadam Dharma throughout the world so that all living beings might quickly find permanent inner peace.

Above all, we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang in founding NKT-IKBU.

As he explains in his book The Mirror of Dharma:

“The Indian Buddhist Master Atisha founded the Kadampa lineage in general, and Je Tsongkhapa founded the New Kadampa lineage in particular. Both lineages are the very essence of Buddha’s teachings and are most suitable for people of this modern age.”

In recent times, Venerable Geshe Kelsang brought these two precious lineages into the modern world and founded the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT-IKBU).

He left an extraordinary legacy from his life’s work and inspired thousands of people of all nationalities to continue creating the conditions for pure Kadam Dharma to spread throughout the world.

Thank you Geshe-la! 🐢

May the precious, supreme bodhichitta
Grow where it has not yet grown;
Where it has grown, may it not decrease,
But flourish for evermore.

💛💜

Visualizing Buddha & Receiving Blessings
Wednesday, April 15
6:30pm-8pm

Please join us as we celebrate Buddha's Enlightenment Day! On April 15 we celebrate Buddha demonstrating how to attain enlightenment. Enlightenment is the inner light of wisdom, completely free from mistaken appearance, whose function is to bestow mental peace upon each and every living being. It is the source of all true happiness.

On this holy day, we engage in a short teaching, chanted prayers and a guided visualization of Buddha, led by Noreen Flack, Resident Teacher at KMC Austin.
Everyone welcome!
