So you're probably a little curious about me...

As you should be! The relationship between a client and therapist is one that requires trust and openness. In our first few sessions (especially the first one), I may ask a lot of questions, but I also welcome questions you may have. In the spirit on getting to know each other, here's a little about me:

I've been a counselor for 7 years. I began my career working at a residential treatment center for teens, then transitioned into working within schools to provide counseling focused on personal, social-emotional issues. Although I counsel people of all ages on a variety of issues, my specialties are:

🌎 “My land is not your land.”

❤️‍🩹 In a time of increasing sociopolitical violence and the systematic restriction of gender-affirming care, LGBTQ+ individuals and families are facing a heartbreaking reality: the need to flee their homes in search of safety.

👩🏽‍🏫 I am honored to be presenting “MY LAND IS NOT YOUR LAND: DISPLACEMENT, LOSS, & THE PURSUIT OF SAFETY” at the 13th Annual Contemporary Relationships Conference this May.

🧠 As families leave “red states” like Texas, they carry with them a “complex ambiguous grief” that is often misunderstood or overlooked. In this session, we will move beyond standard clinical frameworks to examine how we, as providers, can support both those who leave and those who stay. Using a lens of liberation psychology and trauma-informed grief care, we’ll explore how to witness and hold this unique form of displacement.

Spent part of my morning at to record an absolutely energizing conversation with for their show “Racism on the Levels”.

I was able to share about my career path, my current projects that all live at the intersection of mental health and creative arts, and many of the folks along the way who’ve supported me in amplifying diverse voices in Austin.

Day 1 of the Hispanic Austin Leadership program is in the books! 👩🏽‍💼

🫱🏽‍🫲🏾 Met the other 34 impactful leaders in my cohort.

🔎 Spent the morning learning about our individual and team leadership strengths with Dr. Alejandra Rodríguez Mielke

📊 Got an in depth breakdown of Latiné demographic trends in Austin and Texas from our very own city demographer Lila Valencia

👥 Received a big ol’ dose of motivation and inspiration from one of my favorite nonprofit leaders in our community, Paulina Artieda from

And most importantly…bonded and began brainstorming with my team aka “Straight 2 The Top” 🧠⚡️

Excited to dive into our team impact project over the next 9 months and expand my knowledge in the world of Finance 💵

🌊 2024 | E A S E 🌊 What’s your word? ✍🏽

✨Each year I find a word or concept I want to lean into. Not a New Year’s resolution…just a reminder for me to come back to throughout the year, whether in reflection or action.

✨EASE is my 2024 word. And don’t get it twisted…inviting ease into life ain’t EASY!! What is easy is getting wrapped in all that you can do, and it’s even easier to forget to be and invite ease into your life…especially when capitalism worships the overachiever!!

✨ I’ve been doing better about closing my laptop while it’s still light out and *not* maximizing my productivity. And y’all… 😮‍💨 that has been a whole other level of growth and healing!!

✨ Last night I prioritized space in my calendar to attend an artist talk and embroidery class led by 🪡 After she shared about her work, she invited us to create pieces that reflected words we wish our younger selves had heard growing up. These are the words that arose in my heart…and happened to align with my 2024 palabra!!

✨So I extend the invitation to y’all…what are the words you wish your younger self heard? Or what word(s) do you find yourself leaning into?

She’s a winner y’all! 💐 Honored to be recognized alongside and receive YWCA’s inaugural “Boots on The Ground” award.

Come celebrate at YWCA Greater Austin’s Boots and Bubbles Brunch Fundraiser on July 27th and support their work. YWCA Greater Austin provides no and low-cost mental health care services to those who would otherwise not have access to such services. Brunch attendees will have the opportunity to connect over good food and good music. During the Brunch YWCA Greater Austin will honor women’s service in the community with the first annual Boots on the Ground award.
