It’s a new year and I’m tired and in a rare sentimental mood so I’m gonna get real right now.

After spending a good part of the evening deciding what to draw to close out the decade I realized this comic from 2017 sums up this past decade better than anything.

Years ago I had a therapist who said to visualize a table in front of me. She told me to methodically place everything on that table and look at it. What I couldn’t look at I’d put in a little box for later. Then she said to pick them up one at a time, at my own pace, and hold them and work through them. My table is still pretty full, and there are still things I can’t look at yet. But I’m in a place 22-year-old Hannah didn’t believe existed and that’s pretty cool.

I’m proud of myself.
