Last week, Rep. Cecil Bell Jr. toured The Heights of Magnolia, a Touchstone Communities facility in Magnolia, Texas, to see firsthand the care and dedication that define long-term care in our state.

Our President and CEO Travis Clardy greatly enjoyed joining his former legislative colleague for a thoughtful conversation about the future of long-term care and the importance of supporting providers, residents, and caregivers across Texas.

A busy day on the ground for the Texas Health Care Association in the Rio Grande Valley!
This afternoon, Senator Juan Chuy Hinojosa and State Representative Sergio Muñoz, Jr. toured HMG Healthcare facility Mission Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, visiting with residents and staff. Earlier today, Representative Erin Gamez toured Touchstone’s Las Alturas Brownsville Nursing & Transitional Care to see firsthand the care being provided.
We appreciate these leaders for taking the time to engage with long-term care providers and learn more about the work happening in their communities.

Last night, the THCA PAC sponsored a fundraiser honoring Human Services Chairwoman Lacey Hull, a great friend to the long term care profession. Our PAC was proud to help raise critical funds for her reelection. We thank our special guest, Speaker Dustin Burrows for Texas, for joining us, along with other members of the Legislature. We also thank THCA members Momentum Skilled Services and Touchstone Communities for attending! Finally, a HUGE thank you to Mike and Laurie Moody for hosting us at their beautiful home!

Today we had the pleasure of joining The Springs Healthcare & Rehabilitation in hosting Representative Caroline Harris Davila and her staff in Cedar Park! We always enjoy showing off our member facilities to our elected officials. Rep. Harris is good friend to long term care profession, and we look forward to visiting with her again!

We are terribly saddened to hear of this tragedy impacting these families in Pennsylvania at what should be the happiest time of year. Our thoughts, our prayers, and our condolences are with all those hurting today.

A fire was reported at Silver Lake Healthcare Center on Dec. 23 with some nearby residents saying they heard an explosion and felt their homes shake.
