Today, the SIMS Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Dick Chalmers Music Venue Program.

Formed in memory of Dick Chalmers, a co-creator of the program and longtime ambassador for the Red River Cultural District in Downtown Austin, the Music Venue Program is an initiative to help SIMS build an additional safety net to better fund the provision of mental health services to venue staff across Central Texas, recognizing that often times this population of our music community do not have access to health benefits and are at greater risk for mental health challenges.

Dick was a great friend to many in our music community, who left a deep impact on our city.

Help SIMS support the emotional wellness of our music community through our Restore the Rhythm campaign now through Dec. 31, 2025!

For the past 30 years, the SIMS Foundation, through the generous support of friends like you, has provided more than 25,000 music industry professionals with access to mental healthcare and substance use recovery services.

With upcoming changes to healthcare access, we will all need to step up in an even bigger way to make sure that no one in our community loses the care they need to be well and thrive.

Today is Giving Tuesday, and if you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, we hope you’ll consider supporting SIMS Foundation at SIMSFoundation.org/donate.

We’re working to raise the vital funds needed to continue providing mental health care, psychiatric support, and substance use recovery services to the musicians, families, and industry professionals who make Austin’s music scene what it is.

With major changes to mental healthcare access expected in 2026, your support today helps ensure we can continue stepping up for our community, no matter what challenges come our way.

Every contribution, big or small, helps us move closer to our goal and keeps our mission strong. Don't forget that monthly donors have the biggest impact on our work, and the first 20 people to sign up for a monthly donation of at least $50 will receive a commemorative SIMS 30th Anniversary water bottle from YETI!

Thank you for helping us Restore the Rhythm and care for the heartbeat of Austin.

Thank you to our friends at KVUE News for helping to spread the word about our Restore the Rhythm campaign, which seeks to raise support to allow us to continue to provide life-saving mental healthcare services to Austin's music industry professionals.

With the upcoming changes to healthcare access planned for 2026, we expect many of our clients may lose access to coverage that helps them offset the cost of mental healthcare services.

SIMS must be prepared to step up and fill this gap, so no one loses access to the care they need.

Giving Tuesday is tomorrow, and this holiday season we're working to raise the vital funds needed to continue our mission of supporting the emotional wellness of everyone in Austin’s music community.

SIMSFoundation.org/donate

As we look ahead to the challenges 2026 may bring, especially the increased costs for mental healthcare, SIMS is committed to stepping up and filling the gap so our clients don't lose access to services.

And we can’t do it without you.

Restore the Rhythm is our end-of-year campaign to ensure that musicians, their families, and music industry professionals can continue to access lifesaving mental health care, psychiatric support, and substance use recovery services.

Our goal is to raise $150,000 by December 31, 2025, and every gift brings us one step closer to protecting the heartbeat of Austin’s music scene.

If you’re able, please consider making a contribution or signing up to be a team fundraiser. Your support keeps our community strong!

Don't forget that monthly donors have the biggest impact on our work, and the first 20 people to sign up for a monthly donation of at least $50 will receive a commemorative SIMS 30th Anniversary water bottle from YETI!
