Thank you to CBS We Are Austin and Trevor Scott for hosting us and giving our Board Chair Marissa Rivera and our Director of Operations Conrado Markel the opportunity to talk about how SIMS Foundation will be hosting Sober Space all throughout SXSW!

Sober Space offers SXSW attendees a supportive, substance-free place to recharge, connect, and take care of their well-being during the high-energy conference, as we know many need extra support in avoiding substances during times like these.

You can find Sober Space in Brazos Hall at the JW Marriott every day of the conference from 4-5 p.m. Reach out with questions! 💙

Today, we honor our foundation's namesake, Sims Ellison, who would have been 59 today.

Sims’ legacy has shaped our local music community in so many important ways, by highlighting the need for expanded access to mental healthcare for music industry professionals.

At the SIMS Foundation, we are honored to be part of the stewardship of Sims' legacy, which continues to live on through the music community he loved so deeply and through our mission to support the mental health and wellbeing of Austin’s music community.

Happy Birthday, Sims. 💙

Celebrating the women who continue to shape and strengthen the music community. 💜

On this International Women’s Day, Austin-based musician Mélat reflects on the artists who inspired her and the women who paved the way in music, including her inspiration, Ella Fitzgerald. These women’s courage, creativity, and resilience helped open doors and create space for future generations of musicians to find their voice.

Today we celebrate the women who came before, the women creating today, and the ones who will follow. 🎶

Happy Amplify Austin Day & Happy Women's History Month! 💗

Today, we celebrate the biggest giving day in Central Texas and the ways that SIMS supporters have enabled us to provide mental health care and substance use recovery services for the Central Texas music community for more than 31 years.

There are so many talented female artists and music industry professionals in our community, and we know that women encounter many unique challenges working in the industry. Thanks to SIMS Advisory Board Member Keley Flanagan () for shining a light on this important issue.

And don't forget - Amplify Austin goes ALL DAY! ⏰

Every gift—big or small—helps us continue showing up for the people behind the music.

👉Give anytime before 6 p.m. today and help us amplify mental health in our community.

🚨 AMPLIFY AUSTIN DAY IS LIVE!🚨

Friends, it’s finally here - our Amplify Austin Day campaign starts NOW!

For the next 24 hours, you can help us reach our $10,000 goal to continue providing mental health care and substance use recovery services to the people who keep Central Texas music alive.

At SIMS Foundation, our mission is to support the emotional wellbeing of music industry professionals working behind the scenes of our local live music culture. Many of the people we serve are underinsured or uninsured and rely on SIMS to access and afford the care they need.

Your support today helps ensure these life-saving services remain available to our music community when they need them most.

✨ Donate anytime between now and 6 PM tomorrow and be part of something truly impactful.

Together, we can make a difference.

Music is medicine and so is community. 💙

We appreciate everyone who came out to support SIMS and our city's live music scene at the 44th Annual Austin Music Awards at Antone's last night. Hosted by the Austin Chronicle, this event was an opportunity to recognize the talented professionals who bring our live music scene to life, as well as an opportunity for us to be together in community following the tragic events of this weekend.

We were honored to present this year’s Industry Hall of Fame Award to Dick Chalmers, whose family was there to accept the award. Dick's impact and legacy will continue to live on through our community and SIMS' Dick Chalmers Music Venue Program, which supports the provision of mental healthcare to venue staff.
