This ultra-hydrating CoQ10 + Jasmine oil from is one of my favorite oils for facial cupping and gua sha treatments. It is a powerful blend of antioxidants, infused with the delicate scent of jasmine and rose essential oils. It hydrates even the driest skin with our powerful blend of organic oils that mimic your skin's own natural moisture barrier.

This formula can be used as a powerful moisturizer, makeup primer, or nighttime facial serum. An excellent facial oil for all skin types, particularly dry or dehydrated skin. It contains:

✨Chia Seed Oil - Full of omega fatty acids that help to hydrate and smooth the skin
✨Organic Jojoba Oil – Mimics our body’s own moisture barrier, thereby absorbing quickly and easily into the skin
✨Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil – Anti-oxidant + anti-inflammatory, soothes irritated skin and has anti-aging properties
✨CoQ10 – Promotes deep cellular healing + repair
✨Vitamin E – Natural anti-oxidant + skin softener

If you'd like to pick some up for yourself or a loved one (and a gua sha tool too!), stop by my office or schedule a facial cupping treatment or add on to try it for yourself! Click on the link in my bio to schedule🤍

Wu Wei Zi, also known as schisandra berry, is translated as Five-Flavored Seed. This fruit contains all the flavors - sour, sweet, bitter, salty and acrid - making it a very balanced herb.
In Chinese Medicine, schisandra is used to stabilize the lungs and the large intestines. It astringes the lung qi and tonifies the kidneys which means it is useful for chronic cough, asthma, and incontinence. It also stops diarrhea where there is spleen and kidney deficiency. My personal favorite is its use to stop excessive sweating from yin or yang deficiency. This is particularly helpful for hot flashes during perimenopause. Schisandra also quiets the Spirit and calms the heart ❤️ It helps with irritability, heart palpitations, dream disturbed sleep, and insomnia. Essentially, it is now one of my go-to herbs for women with sleep issues due to hot flashes at night. 😴
Schedule an appointment via the link in my bio and we can discuss if this herb is a good option for you. I'd love for more people to benefit from this amazing herb 💗

Ear seeds are small seeds (traditionally seeds from the vaccaria plant) or stainless steel (both neutral effects), silver (more draining / dispersing), or 24K gold (more tonifying) pellets like these! ⭐️ These seeds or pellets are placed on specific points on the ear which correspond to different areas of the body and organ systems, just like in reflexology. Ear seeds gently stimulate these points to restore balance in body and nervous system, reduce pain, and promote healing.

This calming, mood-lifting bundle includes:
✨ 40 luxurious 24k Gold Ear Seeds
✨ Charts for Stress, Anxiety, and Elevated Mood
✨ Precision tweezers for easy placement
✨ Complete instructions

It’s a perfect gift for your stressed out and anxious loved ones this holiday season. They are also perfect for you at you attend holiday parties and family gatherings - they are beautiful and subtle on the ear. These kits are available at my office for $30/kit as well as packs of regular vaccaria seeds ($8).
I use ear seeds regularly on myself and my clients because of their potency - have you ever tried ear seeds?

Bitters are my go-to help for digestion! These bitter herbs increase saliva & stomach acid production and stimulate the release of digestive enzymes. They also help balance blood sugar levels and detox pathways in the liver. They can be helpful before and/or after a meal, depending on your specific digestive needs.

Take some digestive bitters like these from 10 minutes before a meal or if you have overindulged (perhaps at a big family meal this week!🧡), try it after a meal. You can also take them both before and after meals - just play around with what works for you and your digestion!

Pick up some digestive bitters at or stop by the office for some by
Experiment with them to see which ones you like the best!

Stomach 36 is a great acupuncture point for this week 🍁 🦃 It's the single most important point in the body to stimulate the Stomach and the Spleen to generate Blood and Qi. It is considered one of the most vital points to strengthen our digestive system as well as immunity.

You can find this point by placing 4 fingers perpendicular to your leg below the kneecap. Then slide those fingers to the outside of your lower leg bone (the tibia) where you feel a little divot next to the bone with your lower finger.

To stimulate this point, just place a finger on this point and press & hold for 30 seconds to one minute. I also love using an ear seed on this point to help support the spleen and stomach and moxa to boost immunity 🧡 🙏🏻

Book an acupuncture session through the link in my bio and we'll be sure to use ST 36 to support your digestive system!

Pro Tip for Thanksgiving: Don't overeat 😂 🦃 🥧 But if you do, thankfully, we have some herbal allies to save the day. Bao He Pian is a wonderful formula to harmonize the Stomach and disperse food stagnation. It helps with bloating and fullness, acid reflux, and nausea.

I learned about this formula during my first Thanksgiving in acupuncture school, before I had even started studying herbs. It has been a staple in my medicine cabinet ever since. It contains hawthorn berries (shan zha), radish seeds (lai fu zi), and fermented leaven (shen qu) to help digest grains, meat, fatty foods, and alcohol. Caution: If you have celiac disease or are gluten sensitive, avoid this formula.
I have a few bottles of Bao He Pain in the clinic available if you need it! Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🧡🙏🏻

In Chinese Medicine, healthy hair is dependent on abundant flow of blood and Qi 💇🏻‍♀️ When there is a deficiency of either Qi or Blood (more often blood) or stagnation of Qi or Blood, the hair follicles aren't able to receive the nourishment they need to grow healthy hair.

Typically, blood and Qi deficiencies are caused by poor diet or digestive issues which prevent proper absorption of nutrients. Qi and Blood stagnation are often caused by stress or hormone imbalances (very common in perimenopause).

Acupuncture improves the flow of Qi and Blood to the scalp and body to improve hair growth ☯ Chinese herbs are often used to nourish the blood and Qi to prevent excess hair shedding.

Visit my blog on hair loss support through the link in my bio. There are recommendations which
address hair loss from both an external and internal perspective through the lens of Chinese Medicine.

Obviously, everyone is unique. If you would like to schedule a consultation to receive more specifics, please schedule an acupuncture consultation through the link in my bio.

Nervines are a category of herbs that support and nourish the central nervous system. They can be used to restore balance and help soothe an overstimulated or stressed nervous system - stress, anxiety, or insomnia, anyone?

This page is from the book Naturally by
It's a wonderful book for seasoned herbalists as well as those interested in knowing more about using herbs in your everyday life. It includes recipes as well as a very thorough index so you can look up specific herbs.

This summer, I walked through this beautiful labyrinth at while I was visiting on Whidbey Island. A labyrinth is a windy, often circular path with only one route with no dead ends or wrong turns. It allows those who walk it to reflect, focus, and find inner peace.

As Fall finally comes in Austin (yay cold front this week! 🍁🧡), it hits me how symbolic a labyrinth is for autumn: a time to move slowly, quietly, and reflectively.

In Chinese Medicine, the Lungs and the Large Intestine, the organs of release and reflection, are associated with the fall season as well as the emotion of grief. Fall is the season of contraction and turning inward. It is a season of letting go. This season invites us to release what no longer serves us, to evaluate our values and to contemplate how we want to live. Like the trees shedding their leaves, the release makes way for a deeper reserve and peace within us.

This Fall, give yourself permission to slow down, breathe deeply, and notice what wants to be shed and released. Take time to read and journal. Savor your coffee or tea in silence. Enjoy an acupuncture session. And perhaps walk a labyrinth ꩜ 🤍
Have you ever walked a labyrinth?
