My hastily written obit for post-punk.com on Olli Wisdom's passing yesterday at age 63. Was never the biggest fan of his band Specimen (though they did have some okay tracks, really)--

--but I think it's Olli's hustle as a behind-the-scenes, maker-of-things-happen, that deserves a lot of support. He was a diligent promoter, coordinator, organizer, a champion and advocate of lesser known dark bands to whom he dedicated effort giving performance space to, and through all this his, he always seemed to be in a great mood doing it. This includes touring the Batcave event like a roadshow across different cities in the US, that linked up many disparate scenes and isolated folks giving a lot of locals their first shot, in an age before cellphones and social media. He seemed by all accounts a good and genuine guy. 🖤😓
