Thread lifting remains one of the most polarizing procedures in aesthetic medicine — largely due to misinformation, undertrained providers, and mismanaged expectations.
Here’s the truth: Fillers and thread lifting do not do the same thing; one does not replace the other.
Fillers replace volume. Fillers placed in the correct anatomical position should never look heavy or make you look fat.
Threads reposition and lift tissue all while stimulating collagen and elastin where they are placed so the threads lift you up and the collagen and elastin that’s stimulated will help with texture, tone, and skin laxity. You also must keep in mind that all fillers aren’t created equal and all threads aren’t created equal. Some types and brands are far superior to others.
In general: Much of the controversy surrounding threads stems from improper patient selection and technique — not the modality itself.
Hear my thoughts on threads and why they are misunderstood. Don’t knock them until you try them they might just be the subtle lift that you’ve been looking for.
