You don’t have a willpower or motivation problem; you have a calendar problem.

Progress favors the prepared.

It’s easy to stay motivated and on plan when you set yourself and your day up so that the choices that keep you on track are prepared ahead of time.

No more “I had a long day at work so I just grabbed something quick and easy” - cause when you plan for this, the right choice that keeps you on track is quick and easy

No more, “something came up so I had to eat off plan” - cause when you have the tools to adapt on the fly, you can hit your macros no matter what comes up

Planning and adaptability is the difference between those who succeed and those who stay stuck.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not perfect.
But I’m sure as hell always prepared.

How to program cardio that doesn’t suck 👇🏼

First off:Cardio is a DOSE, not a device.
It doesn’t have to be spent stuck inside on a machine.

If the purpose is to burn calories to assist with fat loss, the opportunities are endless.

Now if you’re in a bodybuilding prep or using specific forms of cardio to achieve a specific result, that’s a different story.

But Alexa and I aren’t in prep.
We’re getting shredded for our wedding.
And literally shredding for a lot of our cardio lol.

Here’s the deal:

Anything that sufficiently elevates your heart rate and can be tracked can be used as cardio.

For example, instead of “30 minutes of incline treadmill”

You could program:
- X calories burned
- X time in a specific HR Zone (Heart Rate Zones 1-5)
- X intervals (output / effort based)

For “play cardio” (like snowboarding, hiking, pickleball, mountain biking, etc.), targeting X calories burned is king

MAKE SURE YOU’RE TRACKING THIS

Use a Garmin, Apple Watch, Whoop, Oura Ring, Etc.

We can only manage what we measure.

So yes - you can have fun playing outside and still make hella progress without being stuck on a machine for hours every week.

Also this is the first time I’ve ever cut in the winter and WHY HAVE I NOT DONE THIS BEFORE lol I can literally get shredded while doing my favorite thing in the world? Hell yeah bröther.

What would you do for cardio if it didn’t have to be on a machine?

The problem isn’t your plan
The solution isn’t “new macros” or “meal ideas”

The problem is that you don’t have the tools to adapt when life happens

People who can seemingly hit their macros on autopilot aren’t just “robots” who live in a perfect world

We just have better tools in our tool belt

Surface level fixes give the illusion of progress but it doesn’t change how you think, make decisions, or adapt when life happens

Worse yet, they only work in perfect conditions (and that’s just not how life works)

Stop looking for answers to surface level problems and start building the skills and tools that solve them at the root cause.

Not just “what” but “why, how, where, and when”

Fix that and everything else becomes a million times easier.

Bach weekend with this crew was the best we could have ever asked for.

One of those trips you feel like you could run back 1000x over and keep wanting more.

Good thing we get to do it again in Mexico soon 😂

But man, we had best damn time with our favorite people.

Big family style bbq
Epic house party
Absolutely MOBBING at (y’all RIP 🙌🏼)
Best dinner ever at one of our favorite spots in Santa Fe
Brunch and getting lost in the multiverse

All of our people getting to meet each other and vibe together before we full send it to Mexico in March 💍

This was pretty damn special.

Thank you to our matron/maid of honor and best man instagramless Brock for organizing such an epic weekend.

I can’t wait to get married with y’all by our sides. And I’m only a *little* nervous for the speeches 😂

52 days til we “do this thing” (iykyk lol)

I f*cking love y’all 🖤

This is your formal invitation to get shredded with us:

The Shred With Lex Challenge kicks off on Monday, February 2nd and this time, we’re doing things differently (and it’s CRUSHING)

Normally during this challenge, one or both of us would be in a bodybuilding prep.

This time, we’re getting shredded for our wedding in Mexico in March and we’re having SO much fun doing it.

Since this isn’t a bodybuilding prep, we’re doing it with more fun and flexibility

We’ve been losing fat through the holidays, travel, family dinners, date nights, snowboarding 2-3x/week, and spending less than 5 hours/week in the gym.

The truth is…you don’t need to spend hours in the gym or on the elliptical

You don’t need to give up your weekly date nights or family dinners

What you need is accountability and guidance to develop the health, habits, routines, and mindset required to stick to your plan and navigate life while having fun in the process.

That’s freedom.
That’s flexibility.
That’s sustainability.

That’s how we get results like this without so much restriction and sacrifice.

That’s exactly what the Shred With Lex Challenge is about:

- 28 days of locking into the habits, routines, and mindset to look and FEEL your best for Spring
- Access to the Metal Saints App with training and custom nutrition programming
- 1:1 Metabolic Assessment + 12 month blueprint plan
- Daily and weekly check-ins and accountability from the coaches
- Live weekly workshops where we answer all your questions, engage in community, and give you the code to getting lean
- Access to the Saint’s group chat and community for all of the hype, support, and tips and tricks from the pros

Oh and $500 cash is up for grabs 👀

Challenge starts Monday, February 2nd

First 10 people in can use code “NEWLYWEDS” to enter
