From October 15 to December 7, older adults can review and make changes to their Medicare Part D (prescription drug) plan, and it’s worth taking a closer look.

Even if your loved one’s plan worked well this year, coverage and costs often change. Medications may be dropped, pharmacy networks may shift, and out-of-pocket expenses can rise.

For 2026, several important updates include:
✔️ A $2,100 annual cap on out-of-pocket drug costs
✔️ Monthly insulin capped at $35
✔️ All approved vaccines are now free of charge
✔️ New payment options to spread costs throughout the year
