All of my pain is a spider

𝘼𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙫𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙖 𝙫𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 . -Jack Kornfield

My personal lived experience has taught me this is true. No matter how many times I leave myself, I can always return. 𝙉𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙄 𝙜𝙤, 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 to me.

With each reemergence comes a clarity𝙄 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡. It’s quite hard to remember that without mud there is no lotus… when I am deep in the swamp.

Isn’t the meaning of life just to be alive? To continue to discover who I am here, now, in this circumstance, through this plot twist, while holding deep loss and at the same time profound beauty? 𝘼 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙚𝙩, lonely spaces I sometimes force myself to hold and yet, I stay. I stay longer than I did before. I less often reach for the anesthesia of habit and I watch what happens when I don’t. 𝙄𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚.

January is the month is named after Janus, the Roman 𝙜𝙤𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨, 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙣. The name of the God comes from the Latin word jānus, meaning “𝙙𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙮” 𝙤𝙧 “𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙬𝙖𝙮.” Janus is typically depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions, one young and one old.
