Coming to SXSW this year? I’d love to connect!

This Friday at 10 AM, I’ll be co-facilitating a Core Conversation with Christina Miser: “Innovation Under Pressure: A Coaching Approach to Getting Unstuck, Fast.”

When time is tight and pressure is high, it’s easy to get stuck in overthinking or recycled ideas. In this interactive session, we’ll explore how a coaching approach can create space for clearer thinking, fresh ideas, and forward momentum.

Through live demos and audience interaction, you’ll see how coaching can shift perspective and help people take meaningful next steps — even under pressure.

Happy International Women’s Day to every incredible woman in my community — and a heartfelt shoutout to the men who genuinely show up as allies. 💜

I’ll be honest with you: I didn’t come into today with my usual energy.

The weight of it all has been heavy. Watching DEI programs get dismantled — 20% already gutted, with another 23% potentially cut in the next four years. Witnessing survivors of international human trafficking still dealing with decades-long injustice, still waiting to be heard, still fighting to be believed, by the very institutions meant to protect them. There’s been a quiet but persistent grief in that — a feeling that women’s voices are still being dismissed, minimized, or silenced.

And then a thought that stings: nobody’s coming to save us. We have to rise - by ourselves and for each other.

But today reminded me why we keep going.

I attended The Who’s Who of Women Leading and Building, hosted by .community and Cherie Werner here in Austin, TX — and it was exactly the antidote I needed.

I sat in a room full of women who aren’t waiting for a seat at the table. They’re redesigning systems. Building new ones. Creating access where there was none. Women doing the quiet, determined, extraordinary work of making the world more equitable — right here, right now.

That room gave me something back that I didn’t realize I’d almost lost: hope.

Even in the darkest seasons, women find a way to light a candle — and then fiercely protect that flame.

That’s who we are. That’s how we do it.
To every woman building, healing, leading, and refusing to be silent — I see you.

Many of you know my new year begins with the Lunar New Year — so it feels like the perfect moment to reintroduce myself. ✨

Hi, I’m Sharanya.
Indian. Singaporean. Texan.
Coach. Facilitator. Speaker. Artist.

At the heart of everything I do is one purpose: helping people lead with clarity and confidence in their careers, leadership, and teams.

My path wasn’t linear.

Litigation lawyer.
State government manager.
Coach & entrepreneur.

Each transition came with uncertainty and the quiet question:
Is this really what I’m meant to do?

That search led me to swadharma — living your true calling.

For 13 years, I’ve supported professionals and leaders navigating transitions, reconnecting with their values, and stepping into their next chapter with intention.

In 2013, I also started An Indian Community Theatre— because our stories deserve to be seen and heard.

Now, my worlds are coming together:
coaching + creativity + community + leadership.

Helping people feel seen.
Helping them find their voice.
Helping them grow.

If you’re new here, welcome.
If you’ve been part of the journey, I’m grateful you’re here. Visit globalcoachingworks.com and let’s connect💛

Happy Lunar New Year to all who celebrate!

Many of you know this already, but Lunar New Year has always felt like the true start of my year. Growing up in Singapore as a Third Culture Kid shaped not just the outer rhythms of life, but my inner seasons too. There’s something about this time that feels like a genuine reset — a chance to pause, take a breath, and step into the months ahead with fresh energy and intention.

In the zodiac cycle, the Year of the Fire Horse is often associated with courage, momentum, and bold, spirited movement. The kind of energy that nudges us to trust ourselves, take thoughtful risks, and move forward with purpose.

For leaders and teams, it feels like a gentle reminder to stay clear on direction, support one another, and lean into change — especially as we navigate uncertainty and step into a year that calls for courage, clarity, and forward motion.

I’ve always loved how Lunar New Year holds both reflection and possibility. A moment to look back with gratitude and celebration, and look ahead with curiosity about what’s ready to grow and what new paths might open.

In that spirit of new beginnings, I’ll be sharing a little reintroduction in my next post — more about who I am and what continues to guide the work I do.

For now, wishing you and your loved ones a year filled with energy, courage, and meaningful progress.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

What a joy-filled evening celebrating with the incredible community at

I loved connecting with so many energized, fun-loving, and inspiring women who are building, leading, and lifting each other up. The whole night felt so thoughtfully curated — from the delicious spread (with something for every dietary need!) to the creative non-alcoholic cocktails and beautiful focus on self-love and connection.

One of my favorite moments was the panel on building community through networking — such a powerful reminder that genuine relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

Grateful to have been part of such a warm, welcoming, and empowering evening. Already looking forward to the next one!

Reminder: Story Circles Are Happening Today & Tomorrow

Global Coaching Works, LLC is honored to collaborate with Leela - An Indian Community Theatre, to hold space for stories that so often go unspoken.

Our in-person Story Circle is happening today.
Our virtual Story Circle is tomorrow.

These confidential gatherings are for Asian and South Asian women who have experienced power imbalances, discrimination, or marginalization in the workplace — moments where you may have felt silenced, dismissed, or unsupported.

Both circles will be facilitated by Sharanya Rao, CEO of Global Coaching Works, LLC, an experienced coach and group facilitator who intentionally creates psychological safety so participants can share with care, trust, and support.

In this space:
• Your story is confidential
• No identifying information needs to be shared
• You will be witnessed by peers who understand
• You may experience catharsis in releasing what you’ve carried

Participants often share that simply being heard — without judgment or interruption — brings a deep sense of relief and connection.

If you’ve been holding a story quietly, there is still time to join us.

You don’t have to carry it alone. Your voice matters.

Hi everyone,

I’ll be facilitating an upcoming Story Circle with Leela - An Indian Community Theatre.

At Leela, we believe storytelling is a powerful way to name what so often goes unspoken.

I’m reaching out to Asian and South Asian women who have experienced power imbalances, discrimination, or marginalization in the workplace — moments where you may have felt silenced, dismissed, or powerless in the face of a boss, colleague, or organizational culture.

For 2 years now, we have hosted confidential Story Circles. As a coach and facilitator, I design a space rooted in psychological safety, care, and trust — so participants can share at their own pace, with support.

In this space:
Your story is confidential
- No identifying information needs to be shared
- You will be witnessed by peers who understand
- You may experience catharsis in releasing what you’ve carried

Past participants have shared that simply being heard — without judgment or interruption — brought a profound sense of relief and connection.

If you have a story you’ve been holding quietly, I warmly invite you to join us.

You don’t have to carry it alone. Your voice matters.

My word for the year is experiences.

I’m saying yes to anything that feels new, adventurous, and full of creativity.

And wow… January understood the assignment. 😌

Started the month with the sweetest gathering hosted by the Women’s Club of featuring Irene Kang of

Then I made my own hot pot for the first time… and it was SUCH a blast 🍲🔥

And of course, I got to reconnect with the incredible women in my coach tribe — dreaming big, setting goals, and leaning into our intentions for 2026.

This year already feels so full of possibility… and I’m just getting started.

Cheers to more experiences, more courage, and more joy ahead.
