🎄 3 days before ADHDmas, the overwhelm hit me: three thousand gift options!

Decision fatigue is real.

So is the pressure to “get it right.”
✨ ADHD-friendly holiday tip:
• One gift category per person
• Or gift cards — guilt-free

Simple doesn’t mean thoughtless.
It means sustainable.

🎄 4 days before ADHDmas, my calendar haunted me…

Suddenly every commitment showed up at once.

Past me was way too optimistic.

✨ ADHD-friendly holiday tip:
• Color-code events
• Schedule rest days on purpose

ADHD brains love dopamine from bright visuals — and relief from built-in rest.

Your calendar should support you, not scare you.

🎄5 days before Christmas, my ADHD brain gave to me...

Five forgotten passwords!

Email. Shopping site. Streaming app.
Locked. Out. Again.
✨ ADHD-friendly holiday tip:
• Use a password manager
• Or keep them in one cute, designated notebook

Your brain doesn’t need to remember everything.

That’s what systems are for.

6 days before ADHDmas, I hyperfocused on crafts!

I had big visions.
Glue everywhere.
And cookies that looked more “Pinterest fail” than “holiday masterpiece.”

And you know what? That’s okay.

ADHD creativity doesn’t always come out polished.

Sometimes it comes out joyful, messy, and real.

Perfection is optional.

Participation is enough.

🎄7 days before ADHDmas, the family drama showed up uninvited…
The comments.
The tension.
The sudden urge to explain your entire life in one breath.

If holidays are hard for you, you’re not weak.

You’re navigating emotional landmines with a sensitive nervous system.

You can try: A walk, a bathroom break, stepping outside, or leaving early.

Boundaries aren’t rude.
They’re regulation.

This ADHDmas, you don’t have to stay dysregulated to keep the peace.

Protecting your energy is allowed. 🧡

🎄 8 days before ADHDmas, my impulse bought too much…
It started with one thing.

Then a “this might be useful.”

Then suddenly my cart was full and my brain was very proud of itself.

ADHD impulse spending isn’t about being irresponsible.

It’s about dopamine, urgency, and a nervous system looking for relief.

✨ ADHD-friendly holiday tip:
• Create a “cooling-off” cart and wait 24 hours before checking out
• Or use cash only so your spending has a visible stopping point

When you add friction, you add choice.

And choice beats shame every time.

This ADHDmas, we don’t judge the impulse.

We build systems that protect future you.

🎄 9 days before Christmas, I forgot my car keys…
again.

They weren’t lost.
They were just… somewhere my brain couldn’t retrieve.

If you can relate, here’s the ADHD reframe:
Forgetting your keys isn’t a character flaw. It’s an executive function gap.

✨ Holiday survival tip:
Create one designated holiday key bowl by the door.
Same place. Every time. No thinking required.
ADHD brains don’t need better memory.

They need better systems.

This ADHDmas, we stop blaming ourselves and start building supports that actually work.

🎄 10 days before ADHDmas, my brain gave to me…
a full spiral into guilt.

Guilt for forgetting.
Guilt for needing breaks.
Guilt for not doing “enough,” even when I was exhausted.

Here’s the ADHD truth we don’t say out loud enough:
Guilt isn’t motivation. It’s a byproduct of living in a world that expects neurotypical performance from a neurodivergent brain.

If you’re spiraling this season, it doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means your nervous system is overwhelmed and asking for support.

This ADHDmas, we’re naming it, normalizing it, and letting it go.
You don’t need to earn rest.
You don’t need to justify your limits.
You are allowed to be human.

You’re not behind.
You’re just carrying a lot.

🎄 On the second day of ADHDmas, my family said to me:
“Stop fidgeting, dear!”

But here’s the truth ADHD brains know well:
Fidgeting isn’t bad behavior. It’s self-regulation.

For many ADHD brains, movement helps:
• Focus improve
• Anxiety decrease
• Emotions stay regulated
• Thoughts organize

Sitting perfectly still isn’t a sign of respect or attention.
Sometimes, movement is what makes attention possible.

So this ADHDmas, we’re reframing the things we were told to “stop doing”…

because many of them were actually coping skills all along.

You’re not distracting.
You’re regulating.

We’re officially kicking off our 12-day countdown to Christmas — created for ADHD brains navigating a season that’s joyful…

and wildly overstimulating.

For the next 12 days, we’ll be sharing humor, validation, and ADHD-friendly holiday survival tips because you’re not “behind,” you’re just living in a season with extra demands on an already busy nervous system.

12 days before Christmas, my ADHD brain gave to me:
unfinished to-dos.

And no, that doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

Holiday overwhelm + executive dysfunction = lists that grow faster than they shrink. That’s not laziness — that’s how ADHD works under pressure.

You don’t need to finish everything to be worthy of rest or celebration.

You’re allowed to do less — and still be enough.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s ADHDmas moment.

If you’ve ever wondered why overwhelm hits so hard with ADHD… Here’s a real look inside what many of my clients experience:

“How do I start? Where do I start?”
“If I don’t get through this, it’ll pile up and wait for me.”
“Why can’t I take even a small step?”
“Will I run out of time?”
“Will I fail?”

This isn’t laziness. This is ADHD overwhelm, or should we say, an internal storm of thoughts, sensations, and fears that make simple tasks feel impossible.

For many, overwhelm feels like:
• A brain that can’t organize thoughts
• Emotions that spike into frustration, shame, or anxiety
• A body that freezes, paces, or seeks escape
• A to-do list that lives in your head instead of on paper
• The sense that you should be able to push through… but can’t

This month, we’re walking into December with compassion, not pressure.

Support, not hustle.

Tools that match your brain, not shame that punishes it.

If this post feels like it’s describing your inner world…
You’re not alone, and you’re not broken.

You’re simply an ADHD brain trying to carry groceries without a cart.

Let’s make December the month you finally get the cart. 💛
