I found this note I wrote years ago.
I remember writing it quickly, just to get it out of me… because there was no point engaging and I had to get back to mom duties.
He said it was my fault because I “pissed him off.”
It took over a decade to hear it that clearly. Because it was the first time he actually said those words.
And, I needed to hear him say that… it shifted something in me and I realized, I am not responsible for someone else’s reactions.
I stopped justifying what I already knew in my heart.
“Not my doing.”
Clarity comes when you’re ready.
