Eye-opening day at the Texas Health and Human Services board meeting supporting La’Nika G.’s petition for fair compensation and supervision fee reform for LPC Associates. The system feels outdated, with clear bias—leniency for some, strict cutoffs for others. Board dismissiveness and joking about “heartburn” showed a lack of seriousness. The medical model mindset overshadows our unique counseling approach. Despite rejection, LPC Associates must keep speaking out for change. Grateful for La’Nika’s leadership!
