Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility.
This day is about recognition, respect, and acknowledging the strength it takes to live authentically.
In my work, I have the privilege of caring for transgender patients at different stages of their journey. What continues to stand out to me is not just the physical transformation, but the courage it takes to take that step in the first place. To advocate for yourself. To choose alignment. To move toward a life that feels more honest.
Top surgery, and gender-affirming procedures in general, are often spoken about in clinical terms. But at their core, they are deeply personal. They are about comfort, identity, and the ability to exist in your body without conflict.
Today is not about surgery. It’s about visibility. It’s about listening, supporting, and recognizing individuals for who they are.
To my patients and to the broader transgender community, I see you, I respect you, and I’m grateful to be part of your journey.
