People-pleasing isn’t a flaw or lack of boundaries.
For many people, it’s a nervous system response that developed to preserve safety and connection.

I wrote a short 3-part blog series exploring:
• Why people-pleasing starts
• Why boundaries can feel anxiety-provoking
• How to rebuild self-trust using a nervous-system-informed approach

If you’ve ever said yes when your body was saying no, this series may resonate.
👉 Start with Part 1 here:

People-pleasing is often a nervous system response rooted in safety and connection. Learn how it develops and how mind-body therapy can help.

I wrote a personal reflection on how I practice Internal Family Systems (IFS) in my own life, not just in the therapy room. It’s a reminder that we don’t have to wait until we’re overwhelmed to check in with ourselves.

If this resonates, you can read it here:

A personal IFS reflection on building a daily Self-led practice, befriending overthinking and fear, and cultivating calm, clarity, and compassion.

When you catch yourself wishing others would change, how do you bring the focus back to yourself?

😴✨ Here’s a Brain Gym exercise you can do right in bed:
👉 Start at 100.

Breathe in through your nose and say 100.

Breathe out slowly, a little longer, and say 99.

Breathe in 98, breathe out 97… and so on.

If your mind wanders, no problem — just pick up where you think you left off. There’s no right or wrong. 🌙💤

💡 Reminder: Brain Gym exercises help rewire the brain. You don’t have to stay stuck in anxiety — even small, simple practices like this make a difference.

💜 Try it tonight and let me know how it works for you!

📩 If you know someone who struggles with sleep, please share this — it might be just the tool they need.

Change doesn’t begin “out there.” It begins within. The world feels upside down. Violence, polarization, fear, it’s easy to feel powerless.

Try this 6-step process for returning to yourself when the world feels overwhelming. It starts with pausing, noticing the part of you that’s upset, and offering compassion.
Want to see the full six steps? Read my latest blog:

I often encourage my clients to make Internal Family Systems a way of being with themselves outside of our sessions.

Just like when we walk into a room full of family or friends and say, “Hi Mom, what’s up?” or “Hey Jim, how did it go when you asked Sally out? We can do the same with ourselves.

Stop scrolling for a sec, what part of you is calling out for comfort right now? Give it some love.💛

Feeling off-balance or stressed? 🌿 One simple habit that can make a big difference is a daily check-in with your inner family of parts. By taking a few moments each day to notice and soothe the different parts of yourself, like the anxious, angry, or critical parts, you can cultivate calm, clarity, and self-compassion.

Learn how to start your own inner check-in routine.
