Psychiatry evaluations at Omega Recovery play a critical role in addressing technology addiction by identifying co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, or depression that may drive compulsive screen use. These evaluations help clarify the emotional triggers behind digital dependence or online escapism, giving clinicians a full understanding of each client’s unique challenges. Insights from psychiatric assessments inform personalized treatment plans that target both behavioral and emotional aspects of tech addiction. When appropriate, medication support is provided to stabilize mood and reduce compulsive behaviors, ensuring clients have a strong foundation for sustainable recovery. https://omegarecovery.org/

Somatic therapy supports mental health treatment by helping individuals reconnect with their bodies in safe, intentional ways. By regulating the nervous system, it can reduce persistent stress, anxiety, and hypervigilance while creating space for the body to release and process stored trauma. Through practices like breathwork and grounding techniques, people often develop greater emotional awareness and a deeper understanding of their internal experiences. Over time, this approach fosters a stronger sense of calm, presence, and emotional balance that carries into everyday life. https://omegarecovery.org/how-we-treat/somatic-therapy/

Social media has become one of the most common ways people communicate and connect, with billions of users worldwide and the average person spending nearly two and a half hours a day on these platforms. While social media can offer positive connection, the rapid growth in usage has also led to rising concerns about unhealthy or compulsive behavior. In fact, some experts estimate that up to 10% of people in the United States may struggle with some level of social media addiction. When online engagement begins interfering with real-life relationships, responsibilities, and mental health, it may be time to explore support from a Social Media Addiction Treatment Center. At Omega Recovery in Austin, Texas, individuals receive structured care designed to address not only the addictive behavior itself but also the underlying challenges that often contribute to it, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and low self-esteem. Through a combination of evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and peer recovery coaching—alongside experiential approaches like nature immersion and adventure therapy—Omega Recovery helps clients rebuild balance, develop healthier coping strategies, and rediscover purpose beyond the digital world. https://omegarecovery.org/understanding-social-media-addiction-treatment-center-options/
