We had so much fun in the Ava Christmas Parade today! It was SO cold but SO worth it!

Our director missed the first half of the parade with us because she was up front being the Grand Marshal ❤️ But she met up with us halfway and walked the rest of the way (again!)

Let’s not put perishables in the blessing box. We also do not accept open food or raw meat.

We LOVE our blessing box. It has blessed SO MANY PEOPLE. It’s enabled others to bless others.

But those in need do not deserve to eat your castoffs. That’s not ok nor is it appropriate.

The raw meat had thawed in the box and was disgusting.

There *is* a camera on the box and is actively monitored.

That said - whomever it is leaving baby food and formula on a monthly basis - you’re an angel. Please know you have blessed several families the past few months.

Yesterday was our 9th Annual Friends and Family Thanksgiving Luncheon and it was one for the books! What started as a simple way to celebrate and fellowship with customers and vendors has grown into something even more special - coming together with friends, family, and those who stand with us in our mission. We have so many whose family is their work family - this event *is* their Thanksgiving.

To all of those who attended, all who volunteered (if I list them and forgot someone I would feel awful), all the family and friends, when we thank Him, we thank Him for you!

October employees of the month are our students and teachers in our high school partnership!!

DOCO partners with both Ava high and Gainesville high school - every day these students join our team and learn valuable real-world job skills, practice appropriate workplace boundaries, build healthy camaraderie, and gain the confidence that comes from meaningful work. Watching them grow, side by side with our employees, only adds to our mission.

So this month we’re celebrating the students who show up curious, capable, and ready to contribute. We’re celebrating the teachers who show up with compassion, patience, and a genuine belief in what their students can accomplish. Both students and teachers inspire us, lift up our workplace, and remind us why we Lead with Kindness in everything we do!
