The Behavior Institute

The Behavior Institute Our team believes that quality ABA goes beyond data—it’s about relationships, collaboration, and real-world progress.

The Behavior Institute seeks to help clients and their families with autism reach their full potential by providing 1:1 applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to them. We are a BCBA-owned and operated Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practice dedicated to supporting children with autism and other developmental or behavioral challenges. Our mission is to provide compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based services that help children build meaningful skills and families feel supported every step of the way. We partner closely with families, schools, and community providers to create treatment plans that are practical, ethical, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs. As a locally owned practice, we are deeply committed to our community and to maintaining the highest clinical standards. All services are overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), with a strong emphasis on ongoing training, supervision, and professional development. We're not just improving behavior, we're empowering brighter futures!

What do you struggle with as a parent? As I continue to expand my outreach I am curious what kind of supports are important to families especially those with special needs. Are you looking for that village / a community who understands your daily struggles? Are you looking for resources to help support your family? What is the biggest thing that if changed would impact your life the most in terms of feeling supported?

Parents are partners—not observers.
Collaboration between families and clinicians leads to the best outcomes.

We truly value family collaboration - this is showcased by how much contact we have with our families. We meet weekly with all of our families to ensure that we are generalizing skills as well as keeping open lines of communication to answer questions or concerns as they come up.

ABA is not about changing who a child is—it’s about supporting meaningful skills and independence. We meet every child and family where they are. We have weekly discussions with the family about progress and concerns to ensure that we are on the right track for each individual child. You know your child best and we want you to help lead the team. We're empowering brighter futures.

I'm starting off 2026 strong by continuing to read through all the books that I've purchased. This afternoon I am reading a Linda LeBlanc Supervisor and Mentor book where she mentions this quote.

As Behavior Analysts we are always looking and evaluating our plans and solutions. Of course we want to make a positive impact on behavior, but sometimes what we have decided will work doesn't and we are okay with that. We go back to the drawing board and look to see what we could have missed. It's SO important for us to keep data so we know if what we are doing is working or not.

We are human and we can make mistakes. Mistakes make us stronger as long as learn from them.

When I worked at a public school in Virginia - they always ended their morning announcements with: "Work hard, be kind, change the world". This mantra has stuck with me, even twelve years removed. I feel that it is so simplistic, but signifies such power. Everyday we should challenge ourselves to work hard and be kind. If we do those two things daily we will no doubt change the world.
