While March may be coming to an end, the impact of our Social Services team continues all year long.

Sallie came to Avoca in need of Physical and Occupational therapy and the team did just that!

In a few short weeks, Sallie was able to become more independent and regain her abilities so she could return home. Sallie was a trooper throughout the process and very motivated to gain her independence back. We appreciate the team in the therapy department to assist in her ability to regain independence!

Welcome to Avoca Specialty Care

Built in 2001, Avoca Specialty Care is a non-profit skilled nursing care center that can provide care for up to 46 individuals in private and semi-private rooms. Many of our residents are temporarily with us while they recuperate and rehabilitate using our state-of-the-art therapy room where they work one-on-one with a therapist to set goals and achieve them before returning home. Our therapists, nurses and certified nurses’ aides work as a team with physicians to develop personalized care plans for each patient – long-term, Rehab to Home and outpatient.

While we take pride in our skilled nursing care, outstanding meals and loving compassion, we also are committed to providing a variety of socializing options. Bingo, small group crafts and card games, pet therapy and gardening during the spring and summer are just a few of the daily activities. We enjoy making the most of any holiday and invite the community to join us for Mother’s Day tea, Father’s Day barbecue and coming in for musical entertainment.
