Hi all! I am doing Functional Movement Screens that show exactly how your athlete is performing in specific movement patterns, and what they need to improve with training. I'm offering the screen and a full report FREE for your athlete. The report details where they need to train and things to avoid until they are ready. If your athlete wants to train to improve these results I do functional and reflex motor control training to properly prepare them for higher level training in the future. I teach how to activate muscles in a specific order that should happen reflexively, but don't due to compensations or prior injury. I am a physical therapist, and did this type of training in rehab. Instead let's try to prevent injury. To schedule, text (440) 258-2356. Melissa Rodkey, Key Performance, LLC

Dear Coaches and Parents,

I am offering small group training sessions starting this June! As a physical therapist of over 20 years, I have seen athletes fail to connect the training and instructions they are given with the motor control required to perform their sport. As a therapist, I emphasize motor control while rehabilitating patients after they are injured. Instead, I would love to help your athlete prevent the injury and maximize their competitive edge. My goal is to improve performance by producing strong and healthy athletes who can continue to build confidence through competition and safely compete at the highest levels of their sport. I see so many preventable injuries and training programs that neglect the fundamentals that would help athletes learn to use their bodies efficiently and effectively. This has driven me to offer something better.

By training athletes in small groups of 4 to 6, I can give them the individual attention and the form corrections they need in order to make their training translate to sport. I utilize motor control principles to allow the athlete to connect their training to sport specific tasks. I know how busy schedules get, but this foundational building block is essential to maximize performance and avoid injury at any level.
I am excited to offer my initial class “Foundation”. The focus is on finding and activating the core, without the many substitutions and compensations the high demands of sport and improper training can cause. A strong foundation is required to build a body that will stand up to the challenges of sport over time. ALL athletes can benefit from better muscular control to improve performance and decrease propensity for injury.
Foundation Program Elements:
An individual movement exam for each athlete prior to group sessions to identify specific muscle length and strength deficits and motor control impairments.
Eight 1 hour group sessions 1-2 times a week depending on the group preference.
Post Screening in the last session with a summary of pre to post training results.
Small training groups (4-6) targeted toward athletes in any sport, preferably from a current team, will be formed. If you don’t have a team participating at this time, don’t worry, I will assure your athlete is assigned an appropriate group.
All of this information can be overwhelming if you are not familiar with this type of motor control training. I’m happy to offer a FREE initial screening to show you how this training will benefit your athlete. You have nothing to lose. Learning more about your athlete’s strengths and areas for improvement is always fun. Feel free to reach out for more details.
Schedule your screen ASAP to ensure a group and time that works for you. The cost for the Foundation Program is $250 per athlete. (Discounted to $225 if you schedule the screen by May 14th.) Contact Melissa at (440) 258-2356 or keyperformancept@gmail.com to schedule your screen. I am excited to help unlock your athlete’s potential!

Sincerely,

Melissa Rodkey, PT
