Steven G. Cancer Foundation Our Goals:

To support AYAs facing cancer through community building and survivorship support with Elephants and Tea and our wellness programs.

Our mission is to help adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients, survivors and caregivers know they are not alone in facing cancer through community support, survivorship resources and research. To fund research to cure cancer through the Harry and Angie Giallourakis AYA Cancer Research Fund.

Every cancer experience is shared, even if it looks different on each side.

This time, we’re hearing from a patient and caregiver who experienced camp together, and what it meant to have a space that supported them both.

Camp is one of the few places where caregivers are not on the sidelines and patients do not have to explain. It is a space where both can show up fully, be understood, and find connection in ways that are often hard to come by.

Their story is a reminder that support goes both ways, and that healing can happen in the moments you share.

We’re so grateful to create a space like this, and we can’t wait to do it again so soon.

There’s something about camp that’s hard to put into words… but if you know, you know.

It’s the feeling of being surrounded by people who just get it. The late-night conversations, the laughter you didn’t expect, the moments where you can finally exhale and be fully yourself.

For so many young adults, camp becomes more than just a weekend. It becomes a place where connections are made, stories are shared, and a sense of belonging takes root.

Hearing it from our campers says it best and we can’t wait to create this space again this coming September.
