Foundations ABA

Foundations ABA Foundations ABA provides 1:1 ABA therapy to children on the autism spectrum in the Avon area.

We provide initial ABA evaluations, 1:1 ABA therapy, and parent training to families with children on the autism specturm in the Hendricks County. We are currently offering clinic-based services to children 2-6 years of age with the intention of expanding services to children 7-10 years old in the future. Right now we are credentialed and ready to accept clients with traditional Indiana Medicaid and are continuing to work on credentialing with other major insurance providers so we can better serve more families in the area. So true and something we need to remember! One of my biggest pet peeves is when an adult takes a child’s behavior personally. Most of the time (and I mean 98% of the situations I have seen in my 15+ years of experience), maladaptive behaviors are the result of a skill deficit, such as not being able to communicate needs/wants or tolerate aversive situations. When we make it personal and start using language like, “He attacked me” or “I was assaulted,” we lose focus on why it happened in the first place and the consequence never teaches a child anything constructive to use in the future.
