Seasonal allergies are usually caused by the pollen from trees, grasses and weeds. Trees and grasses are the culprits for springtime and early summer symptoms in Ohio. Symptoms start as early as March, but may be a little later this year due to the colder spring season. The key to managing allergies is prevention. If you are a known sufferer of seasonal allergies, specifically springtime allergies, start medical therapy now (Flonase, OTC Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin)- but always under the guidance of your physician. Call our offices in Amherst at 440-455-3090 or Avon at 440-653-8091 to schedule an appointment.

Fortunately for those in midlife, even if you haven't been an avid exerciser, getting in shape now may head off decline and help restore your aging heart.

As early as your mid-40s, especially if you're sedentary, your heart muscle can show signs of aging, losing its youthful elasticity and power. But moderately strenuous exercise can change that.

“Our entire family of six has seen Dr.Carandang for more than 15 years. She has been with us through potty training to puberty and beyond. None of us can imagine seeing anyone else. She always treats each of us as if we are the only patient she has that day. We are never rushed. My sons, who are now young adults, both say they have a positive relationship with their primary care doctor and can talk to her about any issue. She is their trusted health advisor. There are very few things more valuable than having a health care professional you can trust. We are lucky to have her here in Avon.”
