Crawling & Chiropractic! ✨

When your babe starts to crawl it’s an exciting time of exploration and movement! There are many ways a baby might crawl, and although some of these may look silly, they could be pointing to a bigger problem:

🔹 The bum shuffler: Baby is scooting on their bum, sitting and using arms to push
🔹 The belly crawler: army crawling is a stepping stone & shouldn’t be continued for several months
🔹 The tripod: One leg is crawling while the other is being dragged or hiked up
🔹 The bunny hopper: Both legs are moving at the same time instead of alternating
🔹 The crab walker: Baby is moving sideways or backwards to crawl

Shorter labor time?! Say no more!🤰🏽

Pelvic alignment is so important for a healthy vaginal birth. The goal of prenatal chiropractic care is to balance and mobilize the pelvis, so that baby can move into the proper position for birth. If baby is lined up, and the pelvic bones are mobile and can open for baby to engage, the exit gets a lot easier! 😉

In fact, we always recommend our pregnant mamas swing by during early labor to make sure nothing pelvic related interferes with labor and birth 👏🏼

Contrary to some opinions, you don’t have to wait until you are 40 with back pain to see a chiropractor 😂 & wouldn’t it be nice to avoid developing back pain altogether?! Chiropractic and Breech Pregnancy ✨

“Help, can you turn my breech baby?” The short answer is no- we are not manually turning any baby in utero! However, what we do CAN cause babies to turn head down all on their own, with zero assistance physically!

The uterus is directly connected to the pelvis, so pelvic alignment and balance is so important in providing space for the baby. It also makes a huge difference in labor time as well! (It’s much easier for a baby to navigate a balanced pelvis than one that is very crooked and tight).

While pregnant mamas who wait to seek care until their baby is breech can still get good results, we find it is much better to start balancing the pelvis earlier in pregnancy to give baby as much room in the pelvis as they need to grow and present head down comfortably 🙃.

Baby Elijah getting his very first adjustment in the hospital 🥰 Barely a day old! There is no time limitations for chiropractic. If anything, the sooner the better! 👏🏼

Birth can be a stressful event for both baby and mama, and tension patterns can already be present in the baby from their time spent in utero!

Spinal misalignments create stress on the nervous system, which may manifest as: tension, visible discomfort, fussiness, colic, excessive gas, constipation, sleep abnormalities, latch and nursing issues, and more! Chiropractic helps to make sure baby’s nervous system is not in a stressed state so they are more comfortable while they learn to adapt to this big world!
