⚠️ Generator Safety Reminder ⚠️

As we head into colder months and storm season, please remember to use generators safely:
✅ Always operate generators outdoors—never inside homes, garages, or basements.
✅ Keep them at least 20 feet away from windows, doors, and vents.
✅ Use carbon monoxide detectors in your home to stay protected.
✅ Never refuel a hot generator—let it cool first to avoid fire hazards.
✅ Follow manufacturer instructions for safe setup and maintenance.

Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is preventable when tailgating. Portable generators release CO, a poisonous gas that can be deadly. Run generators at least 20 feet from people and enclosed or partially enclosed spaces to help prevent CO poisoning. Learn more at Michigan.gov/CarbonMonoxide.

🎗️ Early detection saves lives.

In 2024, thousands of uninsured and underinsured Michigan residents accessed free breast and cervical cancer screenings—thanks to the Michigan Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Navigation Program.

Don’t wait. Learn if you or someone you know qualifies: call 844-446-8727 or visit Michigan.gov/Cancer.
