JK9 Pet Services, LLC

JK9 Pet Services, LLC Offering a unique boarding style and personalized dog training tailored to the individual dog. If your dog likes people over other dogs, im the kennel for you!

I have over 15 years of dog training experience and participate in a variety of dog sports. I run a small-scale boarding kennel out of my home. My unique style focused on individual attention of each dog opposed to a group play setting. Dogs do not play with unfamiliar dogs here, so if that is what you're looking for I am likely not the right kennel for you. I also bring over 15 years of dog training experience to the table and my dogs participate in a wide variety of dog sports. Visit my website www.jk9pet.com for a complete pricing list, calendar, and for more information about me and my policies. Rio and I are still getting a feel for each other and what all he needs to work on, but he's doing so well. He actually does much better in a crate than in the run and has been doing amazing with his crate training. This will also help me get him on a consistent potty schedule easier to help with house breaking him better. He also did some engagement for his meals today and ate his entire breakfast and dinner from my hands during a training session. This will help teach him I am valuable and to hopefully focus better during his training. He easily distracted, but he LOVES food. He is also learning "off" to not jump on every surface imaginable to see what's up there because again, everything is super new and exciting for him. Hes also being more brave outside, but still doesn't quite understand outside is for potty breaks and he has to actually go before he comes back in. Not too bad for day 1! Hes a smart guy that has tons of character to make you smile.

Koji is really loving all this snow after some really crappy weather days. Its a bit cold for me, but he didnt mind at all and had to do his zoomies. I also had some boxes on the floor flattening out the new rug downstairs and he got really excited yesterday. So we did some boxes tonight looking for treats. I put the lids on top of the boxes next to it so he had to sniff a little more and he loved it.

I am excited to start 2026 off helping to add to their resources. They do have a PA branch as of recently if youd like to donate to the rescue or learn more about them and their available dogs.

🎉🐾 Happy New Year from Team Memphis Rescue & Support! 🐾🎉

2025 didn’t just beat our 2024 numbers — it blew them out of the water. But these aren’t just numbers… each one is a living being who deserved a chance. 💙

✨ Let’s talk growth:
- In 2024, TMRS took in 40 dogs.
- In 2025, that number jumped to 241 dogs rescued — a 503% increase in lives saved in just one year.

✨ 2025 Impact:
- 241 dogs rescued from euthanasia lists, local shelters, and the streets of the Mid-South
- 166 dogs adopted into loving forever homes
- 23 dogs currently in foster-to-adopt (the best kind of "pending")
- 86 dogs transferred to trusted out-of-state partners

That’s 252 positive outcomes — more than 3× our total outcomes in 2024.

Behind every statistic is a dog who was scared, overlooked, or running out of time — and a village that showed up. Fosters, volunteers, trainers, partners, adopters, and supporters made this possible. The work behind the scenes matters, and we are endlessly grateful.

Here’s to more lives saved and more happy tails in 2026. 🐶✨

Rio is getting acclimated to a house environment and learning he can't jump on everything. I have also learned to prepare for a very excited nose punch to the face haha. He also is learning how to do stairs and has started crate training tonight. We are also working on him being away from the other dogs and more independent. Hes doing well though so far for his first night and has been pretty confident and brave. He also loves treats and food.

Koji got to do a little fitness enrichment session today. We worked on putting his feet on different surfaces, turning on those surfaces, and trying to also use his back feet to step on things. He.did manage to get all 4 feet on the big blue one, but once it wobbled he fell off. He really liked doing position changes on the slanted board too.

Well, life has a way of throwing things at you where you know youre exactly where you need to be. I am really excited to announce that I am officially working with to help train some dogs for them. I am extremely excited for this opportunity to help these guys out so they are able to start off on the right foot in their forever homes and become more adoptable.

Say hello to my first board and train Rio! He is believed to be a German shepherd/malinois mix, but they aren't positive what he is exactly. I absolutely can see (and hear) the German shepherd in him already. Stay tuned to watch his progress.

Rio will be working on:
-house manners
-leash manners
-recalls and other basic obedience,
-crate training
-finding a positive outlet for his energy
-standard care things for vet appointments, nail trims, and grooming

Koji got to help me clean today and got all his blankets washed and a nice, clean kennel run. We also played with his toys a bit to have some fun. Then he got to take a detour on leash to the yard through the gate to let the stairs dry. Im exhausted, but I am so excited to have my little training space back and for the dogs to be able to run around without worrying about them getting into some paint.

12/31/2025

Its officially done! Cleaned, touched up, all the paint has been applied and paint is drying for the night. Im so excited to have this done and everything clean again to use this space. What started as a let's just put new grip tape on the steps turned into an entire basement and stair redo and repaint. Next will be new flooring when I can get the funds for that to continue the flooring from the kennel room.
